Singer Rain plans to leave for Hawaii to face the trial related to his last world tour.Rain's agent J.Tune entertainment told his fans about the news through his official site.

"Rain plans to leave for Hawaii on March 15 due to the matter of Hawaii lawsuit related to his last World Tour concert.
Though he's supposed to fly to Hawaii because of the regrettable matter, thanks to your support and anxiety, I believe that he'll meaningfully get through with it and be able to return to the country.He shall meet the fans that he didn't meet often before, though it may be an inconvenienced occasion.I will appreciate your much love and attention."

Click entertainment, the local agent in Hawaii, sued for Rain, "We bought the production right of Rain's world tour that was dued to be held in Hawaii, last June15, 2007, but it was cancelled one-sidedly by Rain's side."

While Rain's side asserted against that, "We were going to keep holding the concert, but we could not help giving it up because the stage was wholly unprepared."

In reference to the same lawsuit sued by the Click even in the country, Rain & JYP entertainment were judged as the unsuspectedness on October, 2007, from the criminal, section six of South Korea prosecutor.

I wonder how it came that Rain is being sued posting and no corrections have

been made or clarified.???  there must be some kind of misunderstanding on the 

news media...It shows that JYPEntertainment is the one that is being sued..

not JiHOON JUNG...unless Rain is listed as part owner of JYPEntertainment.?????

09.03.11 [JoyNews] Rain “lawsuits abusing the status of celebrity, will take firm stance”

Rain's agency J. Tune on the 11th, took their stance saying that they will “no longer stand to see lawsuits being filed against Rain with unreasonable evidences.” March 9th.

Domestic time, the promoter Andy Kim who was in charge for Rain’s LA concert during the 2007 world tour sued the concert host, Rain as well as his agency for a great sum of money, arguing that the concert cancellation has caused him a huge financial damage.

On the contrary Rain’s side said that “such activity of the plaintiff is too late for any lawsuits since the concert was cancelled due to their unprepared concert stage two years ago, and is using the press.”

Also, they added that “in particular, the fact that this lawsuit was filed before Rain’s Hawaii concert trial is enough to earn suspicion that the plaintiff approached this case with an impure motive.”

Rain’s agency emphasized the fact that Rain had an agreement with the host and the agency only and no business relation whatsoever with the domestic promoter.
Adding on, Rain was in LA 2 weeks before the concert to prepare, worked with the concert staffs for his concert, and did not show any intention of avoiding the concert as a celebrity.

Also, “Andy Kim did not fulfill his basic job as a domestic promoter, and the concert host and staffs, Rain’s agency back then, all hold such evidence in videos, photos, emails and documents” said Rain’s agency.

As they continued to say that “the fact that the plaintiff did not prepare well for the concert is clear evidence that he broke the promised agreement for thorough concert operation”, they expressed their anger towards the plaintiff since it was actually the celebrity himself who received credibility and financial damage.

They expressed their firm stance by adding that “we can not stand to see people abusing the celebrity’s status who receive the attention of the public to write groundless facts and juggle with the media, and will take legal actions against it.”

09.03.11 Rain expected to testify.

 

 HONOLULU - SOUTH Korean pop star and actor Rain is expected to testify in his civil trial stemming from his cancelled concert in Hawaii.
A five-man, three-woman jury was selected among a pool of 52 on Tuesday. Opening arguments were scheduled to begin on Wednesday.
Among the potential jurors who were eliminated was a University of Hawaii student who indicated to the court he was a fan of Rain, but could remain objective.
Rain - whose real name is Jung Ji-hoon - and his producers are being sued over the performer's abrupt cancellation of a June 2007 concert in Honolulu. Attorneys for both sides listed the 26-year-old performer, who was not in court Tuesday, as one of the witnesses they intended to call. He isn't expected to be in court until next week.
Senior US District Judge Alan C. Kay told jurors the trial is expected to last about two weeks.
Hawaii-based Click Entertainment Inc. alleges in its lawsuit that Rain and his producers breached a contract and defrauded the company of more than US$500,000 paid in licensing fees. Also, it is seeking additional damages for the cost of staging the event.
The company also claims in the suit that it has lost business opportunities, earnings and sustained damage to its reputation.
The concert was canceled just days before the scheduled June 15, 2007, performance at Aloha Stadium, disappointing many fans who paid as much as US$300 for a ticket and flew to Honolulu from as far as away as Japan and South Korea. It was supposed to be the first stop on the 'Rain's Coming' US tour.
Performances in San Francisco, Atlanta, New York and Los Angeles were also canceled. All ticket holders were offered refunds.
Concert organisers at the time said they called off the performances because of a copyright challenge from Nevada-based record company Rain Corp. A Nevada District Court later dismissed the case.
Also named in the lawsuit are South Korea-based companies JYP Entertainment Co and Star M Entertainment, in addition to other parties. -- AP
