2009.01.07 JYP helping Rain with his American album?

SM-JYP-YG take on the world in the new year 2009
As we enter into a new year 2009, we see the Big 3 Entertainment companies SM-JYP-YG take their turns to venture into overseas market.
But who will be the big winner at the end of the day?
In 2009, we will continue to see SM Entertainment sending his singers like BoA, Dong Bang Shin Ki and Super Junior out of Korea to promote in other countries.
But with YG Entertainment and JYP Entertainment announcing their plans for entering into overseas market at the same time, fans are interested in how all these adventures out of Korea will turn out.
SM Entertainment
For one, it is pretty obvious that Lee Soo Man is aiming at all singers’ dream stage - America, and also the world’s 2nd largets music market Japan.
Already, last October, ‘Asia’s Star’ BoA had released her debut America single. Since then, she has appeared on numerous concert performance, and in the coming March, she will also be releasing her debut American album. BoA was introduced as the ‘Korea’s Britney Spears’ by the American media.

They will be releasing a new Japanese single ‘Bolero’ in January, and releasing a full Japanese album in March. The 4 Japanese singles they released last year had all achieved #1 on the Oricon chart. More anticipation into the more breakthroughs they will achieve in the new year.
YG Entertainment And for YG Entertainment, singer Se7en will be also be working on his American debut album the first half of the year with the producer of singers like TLC and Beyonce. Anticipation to how Se7en, who was introduced by the American media as ‘Korea’s Justin Timberlake’ will do in the American market after more than 2 years of preparation for it.
Big Bang is also another group who will be working towards the title of the ‘Asian Star’. They will be releasing and promoting a full Japanese album coming summer after their previous promotion in Japan for single ‘With U’ released last November.
JYP Entertainment Park Jin Young has several times gave empty talk to debut Im Jung Hee, GSoul and Min in America, revealed in a recent press interview that he will devote his time and attention to entering the American market in this year.
He has also revealed that he will helping ‘world star’ Rain with the release of his American debut album at the end of the year.
The staff and the production team to Rain's American debut album has not been revealed yet. But news have it that there will be a duet song with top female pop star.
This is exciting news especially that Rain has already participated in several Hollywood production movies like ‘Speed Racer’ and ‘Ninja Assassin’. Fans have their eyes set on how his American debut album will be received.

Ninja Assassin's Rain training

Who could imagine a western actor, never mind pop star, learning martial arts and most of their own stunts for a martial arts film? Well I can't, but Rain is doing just that for the upcoming film Ninja Assassin, and the stunt reel showing online tells us just how hard he's training.
Not only that but it shows how great the stunts are going to be and how practical they are.
The showreel of stunt training has the Korean pop star Rain training hard for his role, not only working out but also performing some superb practical stunts with a few by wire as well. These aren't just isolated stunts either, these are the full fight sequences all carefully choreographed, and they look superb.
There's a great blurb for Ninja Assassin from Twitch, who also had the link to the You Tube video of the stunt training.
"Raizo is one of the deadliest assassins in the world. Taken from the streets as a child, he was transformed into a trained killer by the Ozunu Clan, a secret society whose very existence is considered a myth. But haunted by the merciless execution of his friend by the Clan, Raizo breaks free from them...and vanishes. Now he waits, preparing to exact his revenge. In Berlin, Europol agent Mika Coretti has stumbled upon a money trail linking several political murders to an underground network of untraceable assassins from the Far East. Defying the orders of her superior, Ryan Maslow, Mika digs into top secret agency files to learn the truth behind the murders. Her investigation makes her a target, and the Ozunu Clan sends a team of killers, led by the lethal Takeshi, to silence her forever. Raizo saves Mika from her attackers, but he knows that the Clan will not rest until they are both eliminated. Now, entangled in a deadly game of cat and mouse through the streets of Europe, Raizo and Mika must trust one another if they hope to survive...and finally bring down the elusive Ozunu Clan."
I'm really impressed by the work he's doing and what we're going to get to see on Ninja Assassin when it finally gets released. It looks like Rain is going to be propelled forward with this film too, and his existing fans are going to love it.
Take a look at the showreel for some stunning fight work as well as some physical training for Rain and the rest of the stunt team showing just what they're capable of.

Could you see a western pop star or popular actor going to these lengths in film training? The last time we saw this was with the Wachowski Brothers and the team on the Matrix films.

[2009-01-09] Anticipating Ninja Assassin (compilation of blog articles)

ReelzChannel: The 10 Breakout Stars of 2009
The epic demise of Speed Racer couldn't diminish Hollywood's appetite for Japanese imports. Movies based on manga/anime titles slated for release in '09 include Dragonball, Astro Boy, and Ninja Assassin, all of which stand to fare better at the box office than the Wachowskis' much-maligned CGI acid trip.

Examiner.com: Countdown to 2009: Next Year's 10 Most Wanted Movies - Part I
10)Ninja Assassin however looks positively delicious for those that enjoy a healthy diet of bloody Hong Kong cinema. A modern day Ninja, Raizo, hunts down and battles his own ruthless Ninjitsu clan, to save a girl, (Naomi Harris) in the streets and tenements of present day Europe.
Count me in.

Gabbr.com: Ninja Assassin Behind the Scenes Fight Choreography

Korean Popstar Rain caught the eye of the Brothers Wachowski while producing Speed Racer and is staring in their next action flick bringing us more of Korea’s hottest star. Check out this video of some of the fight scenes being practiced for their upcoming Ninja Assassin.
You can’t really go wrong with a movie called Ninja Assassin, and this Rain guy looks like he is more than capable in the physical aspect of the movie.
The action looks incredible, and this just might be what Rain needs to establish himself in the North American market. Then we can finally see what all the fuss is about.

Ain't It Cool News: NINJA ASSASSIN looks like it'll be ninja action by the tons!

I've yet to figure out why I should hate Rain yet, other than when he beat Colbert in a dance dance revolution challenge... But I'm still convinced he knew the programmer and made the most badass dancer lose by default. Thus dooming Colbert. But in the below footage, I have to say... He looks real [cluebat]ing good doing some really insane moves. Same as the other stunt folk. The other thing that you can take from this footage is that it looks like they were practicing for long, Bruce Lee style tracking shots of massive sword fu chopping and kung fu.

Geeks of Doom: Reminder: ‘Ninja Assassin’ Is Going To Be Insane!

A completely nuts new video has been uncovered that shows the stunt team from the new movie Ninja Assassin practicing their choreography for the movie.
The video is filled with some amazing sword fighting and martial arts work, so you have to check it out if you’re into that kind of thing. If this video is any kind of sample as to what we can expect when the movie comes along, then we’re in for some sort of treat here, folks. Especially if this gets a hard R-rating as it looks to be getting.

Rama’s SCREEN: NINJA ASSASSIN Fight Choreography

The footage/trailer I saw at the Comic-Con was hella tight, very violent but stylish. Why they still have yet to release any of that online is beyond me, maybe it’s just a matter of time since the movie itself is expected to hit theaters everywhere sometime this year.
I did laugh at how Rain tried to speak English and chose not to use his translator who was sitting right next to him. But after seeing this video above, I got respect for his discipline.

SlashFilm: Check This Out: Awesome Fight Training Video for Ninja Assassin

Considering I'm one of the few supporters of this movie, I'm excited to feature this today. This video shows Korean actor Rain training with 87 Eleven, the stunt team behind Matrix, 300, Watchmen, and the Bourne movies. I also love watching this because it shows me why I admire actors like Rain so much - they can do something I could never do, no matter how much training I had. Just watch!

Imprint TALK: Fresh Asian Pop Culture Blog: Ninja Assassin Stunt/Choreography Reel

Rain is looking pretty damn good in the footage handling the sword and other weapons with ease and pulling off some cool looking stunts. And you can see the other featured stuntmen showing off their remarkable talents as well. This footage has elevated Ninja Assassin as a must see film for 2009!

filmschoolrejects.com: The 25 Most Anticipated Movies of 2009

The movie is called Ninja Assassin, do I even have to say why we’re excited about this film? Hell, the film’s star is so badass his name is just Rain. Like Madonna, but if she were a ninja. And a dude. And Korean. But seriously, this film follows a super bad ass assassin out for revenge against those who trained him, but then made the mistake of killing his best friend. The stunt work and fights are coming to you courtesy of 87 Eleven, the same guys who did 300, The Bourne Films, and The Matrix. Expect this movie to have the most slice-and-dice sword action of the year as well as be a strong contender for a Best Fight nod at the end of the year, even against a lot of stiff competition. Sharpen your blades and hone your shuriken, because this is going to be bloody awesome.

Ninja Assassin Trailer: Ninja Assassin Movie with Rain

Rain is really working hard for his role as Raizo in the Ninja Assassin movie. I don't know if he had any skills in martial arts before the movie, but I am quite impressed by his spectacular performance in this training video!
I bet Ninja Assassin can contend for the best action movie of 2009! Take your ninjato sword, check your shuriken and get ready for the Ninja Assassin!
