The possibility of Rain’s comeback to drama acting is growing. Perhaps even in the second half of this year.
A close source said, “Rain was going to be in a local drama last year, but it didn’t fit his schedule and so it was delayed.
This year he’s likely to make his comeback in a drama.”
Rain’s last acting work in Korea was in 2006 with the movie “I’m a Cyborg, but It’s OK,” directed by Park Chan Wook. His last drama was four years ago in 2005 with the KBS 2TV drama “A Love To Kill.”
Writer Lee Kyung Hee, who worked on “A Love To Kill,” mentioned that he would work with Rain in his acting comeback last year, but it was delayed. “It’s yet to be determined,” he said.
Rain will consider domestic proposals for his next drama, and review scripts carefully.
This summer, his second Hollywood movie, “Ninja Assassin,” will be released.

가수 비(본명 정지훈)가 올해 국내 드라마로 안방극장에 컴백할 가능성이 높아지고 있다.
비의 연기자 복귀 여부는 지난해 하반기부터 꾸준히 방송가의 이슈로 떠오르며 구체적인 컴백설이 나돌았다. 하지만 비는 지난해 10월 '레이니즘'을 발표하고 가수로 왕성한 활동을 펼치며 연기자로의 컴백은 잠시 연기했다.
하지만 올해 중 비가 드라마로 국내 팬들과 만날 가능성이 커지고 있다. 한 측근은 "비가 지난해 국내 드라마에 출연하려 했지만 일정 등이 맞지 않아 미뤄졌다. 올해 중 연기자로 컴백할 가능성이 높다"고 전했다.
비는 2006년 말 개봉한 영화 '싸이보그지만 괜찮아'(감독 박찬욱) 이후 국내 연기활동을 중단했다. 또 KBS 2TV 드라마 '이 죽일 놈의 사랑'(이죽사) 이후 4년만에 안방극장 복귀를 노린다.
'이 죽일 놈의 사랑' 작가인 이경희 작가의 차기작에 비가 출연한다는 소문이 여의도 방송가 일각에서 나돌았다.
이경희 작가는 최근 뉴스엔와의 인터뷰에서 "아직 구체적으로 결정된 것이 없다. 비와는 가끔 개인적인 친분으로 연락을 하고 지낸다"고 밝혀 향후 행보가 주목된다.
지난해 하반기 이경희 작가의 차기작으로 거론된 작품에 비의 출연 가능성이 제기됐지만 가수 컴백 준비로 인해 미뤄진 상태다.
비는 현재 국내 외주제작사들로부터 받은 드라마 기획안(시놉시스) 및 대본 일부를 신중히 검토하고 있는 것으로 전해졌다.
한편, 비는 올 여름 두번째 할리우드 출연작 '닌자 어쌔신'의 전세계 개봉을 앞두고 있다.

I don't think squeezing 8 years of his hard work into an hour show was enough... or am I being biased?? Hehehehehe...
I enjoyed it even though most of the information we already know. It started from his Fan Club band days (cute photos). Then it showed his old school and neighbourhood. I like the commentary by JYP (in English). The show talked about his hard life including the death of his Mum. And his determination to succeed and keep his promise to his Mum. It showed his journey from his first album (Bad Guy) till Rainism as well as his Six to Five project. And of course, the 'competition' with Steven Colbert.
The ending gave me the impression that Rain will never quench his thirst for success. The narrator stated that in order for Rain to keep up with the changing generation he has to come up with ideas that will appeal to the general public.
And my golly, I didn't realize the impact of winning the Mnet (?) had for the success of Rainism. The documentary pretty much said that leaving JYP was a gamble he took and luckily won. But this is only the beginning... He still has a lot to 'conquer'.
Of course, lots and lots of Rain interview *wink*
In conclusion... I think it was well done and covered the most important factors in Rain's life.

월드스타 비의 소속사도 경기 침체에 대비해 구조조정을 단행했다.
2일 제이튠엔터테인먼트와 관련업계에 따르면 지난 3·4 분기 말 33명이었던 직원 가운데 70% 이상을 아웃소싱으로 전환한 것으로 나타났다. 남은 직원이 10여명에 불과한 것으로 밝혀졌다.
제이튠엔터는 지난해 직원들의 주인의식 고취 및 동기 부여를 위해 직원들에게 부여했던 주식매수선택권을 취소한다고 지난달 29일 공시했다. 주식매수청구권을 부여받은 직원 가운데 대다수가 이직함에 따라 자연스레 취소됐다는 제이튠엔터의 설명이다.
대다수 직원의 이직에 대해 제이튠엔터 관계자는 "기존 매니저를 비롯한 비관리직의 경우 아웃소싱으로 전환했다"고 말했다.
관계자는 이어 "이를 통해 임금과 경비를 대폭 절감할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다"고 밝혔다.
제이튠엔터는 아웃소싱에 대해 매니지먼트 업체의 경우 연예인 한명에 대해 매니저를 비롯해 코디네이터와 의상 담당 등 7~8명의 인력이 따라다니게 되는데 이들 인력을 아웃소싱 업체를 통해 대체한다고 설명했다.
기존 제이튠엔터의 직원이었던 매니저 등의 인력이 아웃소싱 업체로 자리를 옮겼다.
제이튠엔터는 연예인이 활동하지 않을 때는 고정적으로 나가는 임금 및 경비를 절감할 수 있으며 아웃소싱 업체로 이직한 인력은 성과급 체제로 전환하고 소수의 연예인에 국한되지 않을 수 있어 윈-윈 전략이라고 주장했다.
6월결산법인인 제이튠엔터는 지난해 영업손실이 34억2882만원에 달했으며 올해 1분기에도 17억3857만원을 기록했다.
만성 적자에 시달리고 있는 제이튠엔터는 올해 만큼은 새로운 사업 구조를 통해 흑자 전환하겠다는 강한 의지를 표명했다.
제이튠엔터 공시 담당자는 "아웃소싱에 대한 경영 환경 변화를 투자자에게 적극적으로 알리기 위해 공시하려 했다"며 "하지만 관련 공시 규정이 없어 관계 기관과 협의 끝에 공시를 하지 못했다"고 말했다.
제이튠은 기존 매출 구조는 변함없다며 소속 연예인들의 CF와 영화 출연과 음반 제작에 따른 수익금은 제이튠의 매출로 인식된 후 아웃소싱 비용을 제한 후 제이튠엔터의 수익으로 남게된다고 강조했다.
한편 제이튠엔터는 가수 비와 배우 연정훈, 이다해 등이 소속된 매니지먼트 업체이며 비가 13.36% 지분을 보유하고 있다.
