Click Entertainment claims that the concerned parties of the Rain’s Hawaii Concert intentionally tried to swindle payments out of Click Entertainment in canceling the concert. The jury’s verdict in the last trial taken place in Hawaii may be a result that such a claim made by Click Entertainment was reflected. However, the heart of the concert cancellation lies in failure of mediation regarding installation of the concert stage in the Aloha Stadium. In 2007, the Korean prosecution identified this point when Rain was accused by Click Entertainment, and did not treat the accusation in itself as a crime.

As shown in the picture below, considering the relation structure of the Rain’s World Tour Concert contract and the concerned parties, Rain does not have any decision-making authority and he is indeed a victim, among the parties accused by Click Entertainment on charge of fraud, including Star M Entertainment, Revolution Entertainment, JYP (Rain’s former management agency) and Rain.

A pitiful artist, feeling guilty of not keeping the promise with his fans and lost his faithful reputation, was accused by Click Entertainment merely because that is the only way to draw the mass media’s attention in Korea. (Rain’s fame and public awareness in Korea is clearly displayed from the fact that a public broadcasting company (Munhwa Broadcasting Company) aired one-hour intensive analysis program (PD Note, 2007. 7. 17) on this issue.) The evidence that Rain does not bear any legal accountability for the concert cancellation can be found in the following public announcement published by Star M Entertainment:

In 2006, the company (here in after “Star M”) hereto, in accordance with the contract made with JYP Entertainment, shall indemnify and hold harmless JYP Entertainment and the artist Rain (Jeong, Ji-hoon), from and against any and all disputes generated by the 3^rd party due to infringement of the concerned 3^rd party’s copyright and publicity right while carrying out a performance and/or performance related publications, and any and all incidents and/or accidents occurred related to the performance, and Star M shall be liable for all the cost and expenses incurred to settle any and all disputes, incidents and accidents previously described.

It is unreasonable that Click Entertainment accused Rain just to draw public attention on the trial, while knowing that Rain is also a victim. However, the bigger issue is that the amount of damages claimed by Click Entertainment is considerably exaggerated than the actual amount. According to the interview made with Lee, Seung-soo, CEO of Click Entertainment, aired in 2007, the damages were approximately 1(one) billion USD, including intangible loss. Compared to that amount, however, the damages imposed on the accused in the trail seem to be preposterous demand.

“The initial payment of 0.5 billion USD, promotion and advertisement expenses of 400,000 USD and other miscellaneous expenses are summed up altogether approximately 1(one) billion USD.”

In addition, Click Entertainment distributed the press release disadvantageous to Rain to manipulate public opinion against Rain, which causes damage to Rain and the stockholders invested in Rain’s company.

According to an interview made by phone with Yonhap News, one of the concerned authority in the Federal Court of Hawaii stated, "Rain, without any deposit, just needs to enter an appeal against the judicial decision within 30 days after the decision was made by paying an application fee for appeal (450 USD), as well as other necessary fees.", which discloses that the large amount of deposit claimed by some media and Click Entertainment is not true. -------------------

Click Entertainment included an artist in the accused party, while knowing that the concerned artist does not have a decision-making authority to cancel the concert, and manipulated public opinion by using the media before and after the trial. In this regard, it is presumed that there is much room for reviewing the verdict delivered in the last trial in Hawaii, which accepted Click Entertainment’s claim as it is.

'Nature Republic', a new brand shop, which has been heating up the cosmetic distribution industry, has finally raised its veil.'Nature Republic' side announced that Rain signed on with 'Nature Republic' as a model.
The company side expressed, "We selected Rain, who is suited as a global star, for extending the business abroad beyond the domestic market that has already been changed into Red Ocean."
and, "The shop POP including printed AD and the TV broadcasting AD are expected to be progressed, in April and about May each."

'Nature Republic' shop-1 which is due to open on April 3th, is located in a building with 2 stories above ground in Myungdong which is nation's largest commercial center.

[스타 ESI ①] 구혜선·박한별 “인천에서 우리 모르면 간첩”

'방배동 핸섬가이' 정우성, '서문여고 짱' 이효리, '천호동 진주' 조인성, '대방동 킹카' 이민호 등등…·. 연예인이 되기 전 동네의 전설이었던 스타들의 이야기가 지난 주 많은 화제를 모았다. 서울편에 이어 이번엔 전국편을 준비했다. 스타를 많이 배출한 전국의 지역과, 과거 동네 레전드로 불렸던 스타들의 에피소드를 모아봤다.

★경기권-황신혜·박한별 '인천 얼짱'

서울에 인접한 지역적 조건 때문에 압도적으로 많은 스타를 배출했다. 원조 컴퓨터 미인 황신혜를 비롯해 박한별·구혜선·한효주 등이 인천 지역을 주름잡은 얼짱이었다.

아이들 그룹 동방신기의 시아준수와 슈퍼주니어 은혁도 어린 시절부터 일산 지역을 춤으로 평정한 예비 스타였다. 은혁은 "초등학교부터 고등학교까지 시아준수와 같은 학교를 다녔다. 춤을 좋아해 함께 어울려 다녔는데 우리가 언제부턴가 '일산 2대 춤짱'으로 불렸다. 그 덕분에 SM엔터테인먼트 오디션까지 무난히 통과한 것 같다. 시아준수와 중고등학교 때 각종 학교 축제에 초대받았는데, 솔직히 여학생들이 우리를 보려고 많이 몰려들었다"라고 회상했다.

고현정은 서울 출신이지만 1989년 미스코리아 당선 직후, 부천의 시온 고등학교로 전학왔다. 당시 일찍 등교하는 고현정을 보기 위해 남학생들이 몰려들어, 전교에 지각생이 한 명도 없었다는 일화가 시온고의 전설처럼 내려오고 있다.



79년 동갑내기인 김민선과 이천희도 안양 지역 학생들 사이에 명성이 자자했다. 김민선은 고교 시절 방송반 활동을 했을 뿐 아니라 세련된 패션 감각으로 시내를 휘젓고 다녔다. 또 박경림·배두나·이요원 등과 단짝을 이뤄 안양 시내에 놀러 오기도 해 시선을 한몸에 샀다.

이천희는 "난 당시 평촌고, 김민선은 양명여고를 다녔다. 김민선은 모델 준비를 하고 있었지만 난 평범한 학생이라 김민선의 이름만 알았다. 데뷔 후, 같은 안양 출신에 동갑이여서 쉽게 친구가 됐다"고 전했다.

이밖에 심은하와 이요원이 성남 성일여고 동문으로 학창시절부터 유명했으며 특히 심은하는 1993년 엄격한 두발규제에도 불구하고, '성일여고 짱'이라는 별명답게 흑인처럼 과감한 파마 머리를 하고 졸업사진을 찍어 최근에도 네티즌 사이에 화제가 됐다.

★전라권-'깜찍 광주 소녀' 문근영

광주 국제고 출신인 문근영은 어린 시절부터 깜찍한 외모로 동네에서 모르는 사람이 없었다. 도서관 사서 공무원으로 재직했던 부모 대신 항상 외할머니가 촬영장과 학교를 따라 다니며 어린 문근영을 돌보는 것으로 유명했다. 넉넉하지 않은 형편이었지만, 외할머니는 촬영장에서 항상 책을 읽으며 감명깊은 부분엔 밑줄을 그어놓고 문근영에게 차 안에서라도 몇번씩 읽게 했다고.

동방신기의 유노윤호와 원더걸스의 유빈, 빅뱅의 승리는 광주시 정암 초등학교에 2~3살 터울로 학교를 다닌 동문이다.

광주 경신여고 출신인 한지혜는 학교에서도 말광량이로 유명했다. 참한 외모와 달리 친구들과 천방지축으로 노는 편이어서 당시 근처 남학교에서도 한지혜를 모르는 사람이 없었을 정도였다고 한다. 한지혜는 고등학교 2학년 시절인 2001년 슈퍼엘리트 모델 원서를 단짝 친구가 대신 내주면서 우연히 데뷔하게 됐다. 소녀시대의 리더 태연과 장신영, 한류스타 윤손하는 전주 출신, 박솔미와 진희경은 전북 익산이 고향이다.



★충청권-'한밭 보석' 권상우

충청권을 대표하는 간판 연예인은 정준호다. 충남 예산 출신인 그는 예산고 재학시절 수려한 외모 때문에 예산은 물론이고 이웃 동네까지 유명세를 떨쳤다. 고교 시절 밴드 동그라미에서 기타를 쳤고, 1년간 배구 선수로도 활동해 인근 여학생들 사이에서 '완소남'으로 통했다.

가수 비와 별은 어리굴젓으로 유명한 서산 출신이다. 서산군 음암면이 고향인 비는 어릴 때 상경했지만 별은 서산여중을 졸업한 뒤 서울 창덕여고로 전학 갔다. 서산 지역 전국노래자랑에 출연하며 연예계 진출을 노린 별은 JYP가 선발한 오디션에서 발탁됐고, 2006년부터 서산 관광 홍보대사로 활약중이다. 신성우와 개그우먼 이영자도 서산 출신. 싸이더스HQ 정훈탁 대표도 서산이며, 소속 배우 차태현은 당진이 고향이다.

권상우는 대전에서 태어나 동명중-충남고를 거쳐 한남대를 졸업했다. 충남고 시절에는 잘생긴 마스크 때문에 "한밭에서 권상우를 모르면 간첩"이라는 말이 돌기도 했다. 권상우와 함께 멜로 영화 '슬픔보다 더 슬픈 이야기'에 출연한 이보영은 2000년 미스 충남 진에 뽑혔지만 부모 고향만 충남일 뿐 본래 출신지는 인천이다.

이범수는 충북 청주 출신으로 운호 초등학교 재학 시절 똘망똘망한 외모 때문에 전교에서 유명했다. 송진우·장종훈이 거쳐간 야구 명문 세광고 출신이며, 공교롭게 2004년 개봉한 야구 영화 '슈퍼스타 감사용'에 삼미 슈퍼스타즈 패전 전문 투수로 출연하기도 했다. 이효리는 충북 청원 출신이지만 초등학교 입학 전 상경했고, 신동엽에 이어 엄정화·엄태웅은 충북 제천이 낳은 연예계 남매다.
