Warner Bros is considering him for Awaken the Dragon, a film noir remake of 1973’s Enter the Dragon that made Lee one of the most famous martial artists in movies.According to the inside scoop at LatinoReview, Kurt Sutter (the executive producer of “The Shield”) is making his directorial debut on the movie for WB. According to America's special movie web site 'latinoreview.com', Rain was alleged to be offered to star in a noir-style remake of 'Enter the Dragon', the 1973 martial arts classic that made Bruce Lee a global star.
The site reported, "The new remake movie story says that a lone FBI agent who pursues a rogue Shaolin monk into the bloody world of underground martial arts fight clubs.
And the movie concerned will look to discover a fight star in the role of the monk, Korea's star Rain might be who they are looking for.
In particular, 'The Shield' exec producer 'Kurt Sutter' was full of praise for Rain's acting in the movie after he saw Ninja Assassin at Comic-con."
For this, Rain's agent J.Tune entertainment was careful to make their position clear on the 6th, "What Rain was offered to play in the remake movie is true, but the project for his appearance on the screen has not taken concrete shape yet."

Is Rain The New Bruce Lee?
Because the whole "Speed Racer
as a vehicle to stardom" thing didn't work out, Korean megastar Rain is
still best known in the U.S. for his strange rivalry with Stephen
Colbert. But he's still trying! He'll be in the upcoming,
Wachowski-produced Ninja Assassin, and according to Latino Review, he's also in the running to became the modern day Bruce Lee.
In a planned contemporary remake of the Bruce Lee classic Enter the Dragon-- the new one is titled Awaken the Dragon-- Rain would apparently take on Lee's role of the rogue Shaolin monk tracked by an FBI agent through the world of underground fight clubs. Producer Kurt Sutter would find an established American star to play the agent, but Rain would be the real breakout, presumably following in Lee's footsteps.
Is America ready for Rain? I feel like he's been pegged as the next big thing for years now, and it's finally time for him to go ahead and become an icon already. Kick some ass in the underground, and finally Stephen Colbert will be told.

Rain, "Ninja Assassin"On K-pop star Rain's Wikipedia page, the title of "actor" is buried deep within his résumé, flanked by other credits like "model" and "CEO."
That may change once the Wachowski brothers are done with him. After impressing them with his stuntwork in "Speed Racer," the Wachowskis (along with frequently collaborator James McTeigue) decided to cast Rain as the lead in this full-on chopsocky movie, "Ninja Assassin."
In addition to his test drive in "Speed Racer," you can Watch Him Now in "Thirst" director Park Chan-wook's previous film "I'm a Cyborg, But That's OK," where The Man Formerly Known as Jeong Ji-hoon played a kleptomaniac who falls in love with a woman who believes she is, yes, a cyborg.
I'd also recommend you do a quick search of the Interwebs for the highlights of Rain's pseudo-feud with Stephen Colbert, which culminated in a hilariously tongue-in-cheek dance-off on Colbert's show. Something tells me "Ninja Assassin" does not end with Rain smiting his enemies with exuberant dance moves, but that's OK.

[6-Aug-09]Rain to Take Over for Bruce Lee in ‘Dragon’?
South Korean pop singer-turned-actor Rain may be taking over for Bruce Lee. Warner Bros is considering him for Awaken the Dragon, a film noir remake of 1973’s Enter the Dragon that made Lee one of the most famous martial artists in movies.
According to the inside scoop at LatinoReview, Kurt Sutter (the executive producer of “The Shield”) is making his directorial debut on the movie for WB. The plot follows a lone FBI agent who pursues a rogue Shaolin monk into the bloody world of underground martial arts fight clubs. Rain is a possible option for the monk and an established American actor will play the agent, says “El Mayimbe” in his article.
The studio must be extremely impressed with the work Rain did in Ninja Assassin. We’ve seen videos of him training for the martial arts stunts in the Wachowski brothers-produced movie and it looks sick. Early reactions out of a Comic-Con screening were favorable and said it was “extremely bloody.”

[Old NEWS]Ninja Assassin Attacks Car with Ninja Stars
German newspaper BILD has run a set photo from James McTeigue’s Ninja Assassin, which shows the front end of a car with who knows how many Ninja stars sticking through the hood. One can only imagine what kind of sequence The Wachowski Brothers have come up with that has resulted in this kind of car damage. Thanks to Christopher M for sending the photos along. The photo appears to be a month old, so I apologize to anyone who may have already seen it (I had not, so I decided to share).
