During the recently recorded show program 'Seung Seung Jang Gu', idol group Beast

said, "'Yang Yo Seop' and 'Yong Joon Hyung' were almost kicked off the group

when we began rehearsing for our showbiz debut."

In reply, 'Yang Yo Seop' said, "The concept of Beast had more of a masculine feel to it

before its debut. But my image looking very weak and short didn't agree with the concept

our company pursued, so I was tacitly pressured into quitting from the company.”

Continuing, "We videotaped our having a delightful time with a peace of mind before

I quit the company. When our senior Rain saw the videotape purely by chance, he

recognized my value, saying 'Why is the company trying to fire 'Yang Yo Seop' even

though he knows best how to have fun?' Because of Rain, I was able to be given to

become the group's member again."

'Yong Joon Hyung' continued to go on, "I was also almost laid off, but thanks to our

members, I could avert the crisis."

[21-Feb-12][Soompi]Rain Spends Quiet Military Vacation at Home

It was just revealed that Rain had his first vacation since his enlistment into his military service, and he spent it quietly. J. Tune Camp stated that Rain had a 9 day vacation that ended on February 17. The vacation was his “100 days’ vacation” and also his own 5 day vacation. Rain received a special vacation because of his superb shooting skills and stamina during training.

Rain only met with very close friends such as Kim Tae Woo and Koyote’s Bbaek Ga. The rest of the time was spent at home with his family. It was reported that Rain didn’t even tell his own managers about the vacation. His managers found out about the vacation right before Rain returned to the military.

An unnamed source that is close to Rain stated, “Rain wanted to spend a quiet vacation because he is still in the military. One should consider it as basically domiciliary confinement.”

B2ST‘s Yong Junhyung and Yang Yoseob revealed that they were almost cut from the group.

On the February 21st episode of KBS 2TV‘s ‘Win Win‘, the members admitted, “While we were preparing for our debut, Yoseob and Junhyung hyung were nearly kicked out of the group.”

“Before our debut, B2ST’s concept was to be fierce and masculine,” Yoseob began. “But I was thin and on the shorter side, so my image didn’t really fit in with the image the company was preparing. While I was rehearsing, I received notice that I would have to quit the group.”

“Before I left, I decided to film a video of all of us just comfortably goofing around,” he continued. “Senior Rain happened to see this video and said, ‘This kid plays well. Why are you cutting him? Don’t drop him’, and recognized my potential. I earned a second chance after that, thanks to him,” reminiscing and revealing his grateful heart towards Rain.


Yong Junhyung also shared, “I knew that I would be cut a week before I heard the news, by chance I happened to see the notes of a staff member, and it was written that I would be dropped.” He went on to state that he was able to join the group later thanks to the other members.

Rain has had a vacation from the Army. His first since he was conscripted, the vacation was kept away from the media until the Hallyu singer returned to the barracks. A representative from the Army told Sports Hankook that “Private Jung Ji-hoon was on vacation from Feb.9 until Feb.16, having been awarded some extra vacation time on top of his five days leave he accrued for his 100 days in the Army.”

On his first vacation, Rain spent the time at home, indulging in the food he craves as well as spending time with close friends and family members. “He did what every serviceman does on their first break, just enjoying home-cooked meals and resting,” said a representative of the entertainer.

It was assumed that Rain kept an extra low profile, never setting a foot outside his front door while on break.

Rain started his national military service on Oct. 11 last year and due to his excellent state of health and fitness was accepted in the Special Forces.

Beast’s Yong JunHyung and Yang Yoseob confessed that they once almost withdrew from Beast. During the recording of KBS2TV WinWin 100th episode special MC program, Beast said, “On preparation for Beast’s debut, we faced a ‘Junhyung-Yoseob quitting Beast’ crisis”
Yoseob expressed himself, “Before debut, Beast’s concept stresses a lot on masculinity. But because I’m a small person which gives a different impression as what the company has planned. During the discussion process, it is rumored that I have to quit”, reminiscing his sad memories.

He continued, “Before leaving Beast, I and the members had a program which shows us playing together. Luckily, Rain sunbae (senior) watched it and I heard that he said ‘This boy can sing, why fire him? Don’t fire him.’ Therefore I gained another opportunity,” expressing his gratefulness to Rain sunbae.

JunHyung, on the other hand, “I already knew even before the rumors (of firing us) broke out. I knew it when I accidentally saw a staff’s notebook, written there “Sort out Yong JunHyung”. But thanks to the members, he’s able to return to his company.

Singer and actor Rain's position will be changed from a teaching assistant belonging to

a recruit training center to an entertainment soldier belonging to the Publicity Department

as part of the Ministry of Defence.

One of Rain's own aides said on the 22nd, "Rain told me that his position might have to

be changed, when he took a leave from the military. Since the Publicity Department made

a firm request that he should become an entertainment soldier, he seemed to be

determined to change his position."

Rain'll be assigned to the Publicity Department on the 24th after being interviewed for a

post as an entertainment soldier on the 23rd.

Rain enlisted last October 11th, was selected as an ultra warrior doing outstanding work

with an excellent physical strength, and received a citation signed by the divisional

when the presentation of certificates took place in a recruit training center belonging to

the 5th Division. He has served in a recruit training as a teaching assistant since the boot

training.
