On September 15th, Rain performed before fans for the first time in a very long while at the ‘9th Comrade-in-Arms Marathon‘ sponsored by the Defense Media Agency.
Held outdoors at the Han River Park, Rain guested as a special congratulatory stage where he excited fans with the powerful dance performances he’s known for. Despite being on hiatus from the industry for his service in the army, Rain proved that he was made for the stage by captivating the audience with his manners and world star status.
Now in its ninth year, the marathon saw the participation of a total of 5,100 active duty soldiers and citizens. Nine Muses also made an appearance as honorary ambassadors for the event along with Im Ju Hwan, Kang Chang Mo, and Lee Jun Huk, who are all currently serving as public relations officers.

9月15日、国防広報院の主催で行われた「第9回戦友マラソン大会」にてRain が久しぶりにファンの前でパフォーマンスをした。
イベントは漢江の屋外で行われ、パワフルなダンスパフォーマンスで有名なRainは特別なお祝いステージで出演してファンを興奮させた。Rainは兵役の為に芸能活動を休止しているのもかかわらず、彼の立ち振る舞いとワールドスターの地位で観衆をうっとりさせてステージに立つために生まれて来たことを証明した。
今年で9年目になるマラソン大会では現役軍人と一般市民の合計5,100人の参加がみられた。
現在広報支援隊員として服務中のIm Ju Hwan, Kang Chang Mo, そしてLee Jun Hukとともにこのイベントの大使としてNine Musesが出演した。

[Rain] : Listener 'Legolas', "Not long ago I was posed for my 8 ID pictures in a photo studio, but I lost some of them on my way home. Someone found them and called me directly on my cellphone. It turned out she was my former classmate.
Since then, we've continued to meet each other. We must have a karmic connection from a previous existence."
[KMC]: I've never found any photo on the street.
[Rain] : On the street I've found many advertising pamphlets showing women in bikinis. (laughs)

[KMC]: Listener 'Girl Like Sprout', "Unfortunately my car broke down on the way to the mountain, and a truck towed it to the garage. My friend and I wanted to go mountaineering but we had car trouble so we had to take a bus to go back home.
We wasted a whole day that way."
[Rain] : You should insure your car before you have an accident, and ask your auto insurer for help when you have car trouble. They can handle anything that comes up. More important, however, is that you need to have the car serviced regularly.
[KCM]: I hope she'll learn a lesson from her failure and never repeat the same mistake.
[Rain] : Listener 'Bear Stand', "When I visited a cellphone service center to receive repair service, they asked me to establish my identity by showing my ID card, but just as I was leaving home, it occurred to me that I had forgotten my ID card.
No matter how hard I tried, she refused to budge. I had no choice but to go back home to pick it up."
Of course you were upset-just put yourself in her place, then you'll understand her position. The service staffs must adhere to the rules of verifying customers' identities or be punished.
[KCM]: Listener 'Candy Soda', "I've interviewed, but I think I'm unlikely to get the job. However I'm still hopeful that it might work out."
[Rain] : I don't doubt you'll pass. Fighting!
[Rain] : Listener 'Howang who is fresh out of the army'. "When I saw the punks in the streets picking on little children, I screamed at the top of my lungs to quit the violence, but they looked threateningly as if they would have thrashed me without quarter. Finally I was beaten by them, but they heard the police car coming and decided to clear off. I had sustained only a minor injury thanks to the police.
I can't stay quiet when I see anything unjust."
I am waiting for the right moment to let at least two gangsters (harassing people who are weaker than them) have it big time. (laughs)
In my trainee years at that time when my family was having a financial difficulty, I saw a woman being beaten by her husband in an alley. I wrestled the man to the ground, but she turned on me even though he was in the wrong, and she tried to report me to the police (laughs), so I was very disappointed.
And then, the couple were walking hand in hand as if to attract other's attention. (laughs) Such cases must be notified to the police.
You may as well call us #097 and request the appropriate emergency service when you face with crisis. (laughs)

[Rain] : We welcome to the show, first-time visit for new PP soldier "Lee Joon Hyuk". Nice to meet you.
[Lee Joon Hyuk] : Nice to meet you.
[Rain] : When were you enlisted?
[Lee Joon Hyuk] : I was enlisted on 19 June 2012, and I am a private.
I was serving as a member belonging to the military band in the 51st Division located in Suwon region before I came here.
[Rain] : When you first came here, how did you feel?
[Lee Joon Hyuk]: At first, I was overwhelmed by Rain's spirit and could not even say a word, the mere sight of him scared me, and he looked like our leader. (laughs) So, we new soldiers have labeled Rain and KCM the Avengers - "Captain America" and "Hulk Exposed To Gamma Ray", each. (laughs) Now I'm so nervous. (laughs)
[Rain] : What do you think of KCM?
[Lee Joon Hyuk]:(laughs)
[Rain] : KCM is a man who is very considerate of others and is in reputation as a health trainer. (laughs)
[Rain] : Who do you think is the friendliest PR solder to you?
[Lee Joon Hyuk]: I think it is corporal "Kim Jae Wook" because we've worked in the same field.
[Rain] : When "Lee Joon Hyuk" came here, PFC "Jung Joon Yil" was very happy than anyone else. (laughs)
[Lee Joon Hyuk] : I know him personally, but I think he doesn't have a strong presence here. (laughs)
[KCM] : "Jung Joon Yil" has no time to see us often as he is so busy. You should understand that.
[Rain] : When you cut your hair short before your enlistment, how did you feel?
[Lee Joon Hyuk] : I wasn't thinking about anything, but indeed there was nothing so hard to feel lonely having no one to talk to when I was first deployed in an unit where I'll serve until I leave the army. Staying here, my thoughts have been organized, which makes me feel better.
[KCM] : So I've found you look pretty good today. (laughs)
[Rain] : Well, I'm supposed to write a ballad song for KCM for his new album after our discharge. I'm sure his album will be a big hit once it is released. (laughs)
[KCM] : I'm really looking forward to it.
[Rain] :But, I don't want to share the royalties on my song. (laughs)
[KCM] : Do as you please. (laughs)
[Rain] : Just kidding. (laughs)
[Rain] : I enjoyed drama "The Man To Reach The Equator" starring "Lee Joon Hyuk". I was very impressed by the excitement and enthusiasm he had for his work. Also, private soldier 'Choi Jae Howan' works hard to achieve his goal which is to go to America. Let me check whether he studies English hard or not.
"Lee Joon Hyuk" came in second in the 9th Comrade-in-Arms Marathon yesterday.
I think he is good in running than I thought. (laughs)

[Rain] : When "Lee Joon Hyuk" peformed my song "Love Song" at our talent show yesterday, he had a very serious look on his face when he sang, so we had no choice but to exchange grave looks even though laughter bubbled up inside us. (laughs)
[Rain] : What are your most memorable works?
[Lee Joon Hyuk] : Drama "The Man To Reach The Equator" rings in my heart.
[Rain] : I think you played the exceptionally difficult part with surprising depth and great emotion in the drama.
[KCM] :"Lee Joon Hyuk" ever made an appearance in my music video. We’ve worked hard and went through a lot.
[Lee Joon Hyuk] : I should have gotten along with you KCM. (laughs)
[Rain] : "Lee Joon Hyuk" did wonders in his role in the drama.
How do you think you played the role of a bad guy in the drama without a flaw?
[Lee Joon Hyuk] : In order to act realistically, I needed to understand the character's mentality.
[Rain] : When you had to join the army at that time when you were rising to fame as an actor, how did you feel?
[Lee Joon Hyuk] : After the drama, I received many offers to star in films and dramas but decided to join the army. That's why I can look after my soul.
[Rain] : I also had to stop making television appearances even though I only had a bit more to go till I reached my goal in USA. But, I've never once regretted my decision. As a soldier, it's more fulfilling, I think. When I push all distracting thoughts out of my mind and devote my whole energy to my work, time seems to pass quickly. I'll invite you to my home after discharge.
What kind of food do you like except "Nacho"?
[Lee Joon Hyuk] : Pepperoni Pizza I like very much.
[Rain] : I don't know how to cook it (laughs), but I’ll make you a nice dinner at my place then.
[Rain] : What kind of movies do you like?
[Lee Joon Hyuk] : I'm really crazy about all kinds of film, but "Love Me If You Dare", "Let 美人", and "Melancholia" are the most memorable.
[KCM] : I'm really crazy about action films such as The Avengers, etc. (laughs)
[Rain] : I hear you've solidified the friendship with actor "Cha Seung Won".
[Lee Joon Hyuk] : "Cha Seung Won" used to help me improve my acting skills a lot.
[Rain] ; "Cha Seung Won" and I used to work out at the same health club.
I know he still exercises every morning to keep himself in good shape.
I think he is very impressive. He used to be extremely pleased to see me.
[KCM] : But, I think he wasn't exactly pleased to see me even though I knew him personally. (laughs)
[Rain] : KCM, because you aren't an old acquaintance of his.
[Rain] : "Lee Joon Hyuk", when will you leave the army? (laughs)
[Lee Joon Hyuk] : I'll leave the army on 18 March 2014.
[Rain] : Time will fly and you will leave the army soon. (laughs)
[KMC]: Listener 'ㅎㄹㅁ', " 'Lee Joon Hyuk', did you keep your promise to visit "Jo Jung Yik" when "Jo" was enlisted?"
[Lee Joon Hyuk] : I was too busy to keep my promise. (laughs)

[Lee Joon Hyuk] : It was Corporal "Kim Jae Wook" because there's a lot I can learn from him in terms of style.

[Rain] :リスナー '除隊したばかりの Howang' "通りで若造/青二才が子供たちをいじめているのを見た時、暴力を止めるために声の限りに叫んだ、でも彼らは僕を容赦なく打ちのめしたかのように、脅すような態度で僕を見た。最終的には僕は彼らに殴られた、でもパトカーが来る音が聞こえて、彼らは立ち去った。僕は警察のおかげで軽傷を負っただけだった。不公平なことを見ると黙っていることができない。"
僕はとにかく悪い奴（彼らより弱い人に嫌がらせをする）2人がひどいへま/失敗をする時機を待っているよ。(笑い)
僕が訓練生だった時期、僕の家族が経済的に苦しかった時、裏通り/路地で女性（妻）が男性（夫）にたたかれているのを見た。僕はその男を地面に組み伏せた、でもたとえ彼が悪かったとしても彼女は僕に食ってかかってきて、僕の事を警察に通報しようとした(笑い)、なので僕はとてもがっかりしたよ。
その後、カップルはまるで周囲の注意を引くかのように手を取り合って歩き出した。(笑い) こういった事件は警察に届け出すべきだよ。
危機に直面した時は僕達97番に電話して適切な緊急サービスをリクエストしたほうがいいよ。(笑い)

[Lee Joon Hyuk] : 2012年6月19日です、そして僕は二等兵です。
ここに来る前は水原地域にある第51師団の軍楽隊に所属していました。
[Rain] : ここに初めて来た時、どう感じた?
[Lee Joon Hyuk]: 最初, Rainの気迫に圧倒されました、そして一言いうことさえもできなかった、彼を見ただけで僕はおびえた、そして彼は僕達のリーダーのように見えた。(笑い) なので、僕達新人兵はRainとKCMそれぞれに 「アベンジャーズ」の"キャプテン・アメリカ"と"ガンマ線を浴びたハルク“と名前を付けた。(笑い)

[Lee Joon Hyuk] : 何も考えてなかった、でも除隊するまで服務する（はずの）部隊に最初に配置された時、話す人が誰もいないのは寂しくて、それほどつらいものはなかった。広報支援隊に来てから考えがまとまって気が楽になった。
[KCM] :だから、今日君は結構元気そう見えるんだ。 (笑い)
[Rain] : ところで僕達が除隊したあと僕はKCMの新しいアルバムのためのバラード曲を書くことになっている。彼のニューアルバムがリリースされたら大ヒットすると僕は確信している。(笑い)
[KCM] : すごく楽しみにしているよ。
[Rain] :でも、僕の曲の印税はシェアしたくないよ。(笑い)

[Rain] : 昨日、僕達のタレントショーで "Lee Joon Hyuk"が僕の曲 "Love Song"を披露したとき、彼はとても真剣な表情で歌っていたので、 内心僕達は笑いがこみ上げてきたにもかかわらず、真面目な/深刻な表情を返すしかなかった。(笑い)
[Rain] : 一番思い出深い/記憶に残る仕事は何かな?
[Lee Joon Hyuk] : ドラマ "The Man To Reach The Equator/赤道の男"が頭に浮かびます。
[Rain] :あの ドラマで君は極めて難しい役を驚べき奥深さと素晴らしい感情/感性で演じたと思うよ。
[KCM] :"Lee Joon Hyuk"はかつて僕のMVに出演したことがある。僕達は熱心に取り組んだ、そしてたくさんのつらい/苦しい経験をした。
[Lee Joon Hyuk] : 僕はKCM, あなたと仲良くしておくべきだった。(笑い)
[Rain] : "Lee Joon Hyuk"はこのドラマの彼の役割で感嘆した。
ドラマで欠陥なしに悪人の役を演じたことはどう思う?
[Lee Joon Hyuk] : 現実的に演じるために、僕はその人物の心理を理解する必要があった。
[Rain] : 君が入隊しなければならなかった時、当時君は俳優として有名になってきていた、どんな気持ちだった？
[Lee Joon Hyuk] : このドラマのあと、ドラマや映画への出演オファーをたくさん受けた、でも僕は入隊する事を決めた。 なので、僕は自分の気持ちを大切にすることができる。
[Rain] : 僕もUSAでの僕の目標を達成するまでもう少しだったのにもかかわらず、TV出演をやめなければならなかった。でも僕は自分の決めた事を後悔したことは一度も無い。兵士として、さらに充実している。すべての邪念/雑念を頭から追い出して、全エネルギーで仕事に専念すると、時間が早く経つように思える。
除隊後、僕の家に招待するよ。
"Nacho"以外でどんな食べ物が好き?
[Lee Joon Hyuk] : ペペローニピザが大好きです。
[Rain] : それはどうやって作るか知らない。(笑い)、でも僕の家で美味しい夕食を作るよ。
[Rain] :どういった映画が好き?
[Lee Joon Hyuk] :あらゆる種類の映画に夢中です、でも"Love Me If You Dare", "Let 美人", それと "Melancholia"が一番印象に残っている。
[KCM] :僕はアクション映画に夢中、たとえば ”The Avengers”。(笑い)
[Rain] : 君が俳優 "Cha Seung Won"との友情を深めたと聞いたよ。
[Lee Joon Hyuk] : "Cha Seung Won"は僕の演技力向上のためにたくさん助けてくれた。
