Q : Congratulations on becoming an honorary ambassador for the Military Manpower

Administration (MMA). Would you say a few words about it?

Rain : Rain: It's a great honor, and I'd like to work hard to make a good impression as a

honorary ambassador for MMA.

Q : Where did you have your first-ever physical examination for draft?

Rain : I did it at Seoul Regional Military Man Power (=MMA) here.

Q : I think this place reminds you of old memories again.

Rain : I had a physical examination for draft at 19, so I've been here for the first time in

nearly 12 years. When I first went to this place, it all felt very alien to me, but now that

I've been serving in the military, it looks familiar, and I want to pleasantly speak with those

who are here to have a physical examination for draft.

Q : How are you enjoying your life in the army?

Rain : At first, I thought I cut adrift from society, I seemed unable to meet my family and

friends, I couldn't eat what I like, etc, so it was so hard to adjust to the military, but now

I'm enjoying my time at military, overcoming difficulties.

Q : I know you've ever been selected as an ultra warrior, right?

Rain : Yes. As some day you will be rewarded if you work off steam, a few days' leave of

absence per year is usually granted to soldiers if they are diligently trained at the military.

To become an ultra warrior, you should do more than 80 sit-ups in two minutes and clock

less than 12m 30s in 12km sprint. And, over 90% of targets should go down before your

shooting during a day and night rifle drill. You must work hard to achieve your goal.

I felt I had hit the wall during the training, but my efforts paid off.

Q ; What did you do on your reward vacation?

Rain : I think I took ten meals a day. I heartly ate what I like..^^

Q ; Do you receive the same salary as other soldiers do ?

Rain :Yes, of course. I'm living in abundance by my salary.

Q: Do you have any plans to have double-eyelid surgery done?

Rain : It's worth considering. I’ll seriously think about it at a certain age..^^

Q : Do you have a girl friend?

Rain : I wish I had a girl friend, but I have no girl friend right now.

Q ; Do you have any pictures showing girl groups?

Rain : I don't keep any of those pictures because nobody is giving to me, but try

coming here and find out. Girl groups are soldiers' only pleasure..^^

Q : Is hardtack delicious?

Rain : Keke..Yes, it tastes really good as I would eat the same thing every day and never

grow tired of it.

Q: What kind of plans do you have after you leave the military?

Rain : After leaving the military, maybe I'll return to work as a singer, as a dancer, and as

an actor. I think I can let my activities run bigger and wilder than ever before then,

and I think it'll be a lot of fun, so my expectations are higher than ever before.

Q : What would you like to talk to those who are about to join the army?

Rain : In my experience, an imminent break from the society can be hard for you at first,

but I want to tell you to enjoy it. Since the army moves at the word of command, it is very

hard at first. If you adapt yourselves to your environment, there will be a day when things

will open up for you. and you'll make a difference at the time of 21months.

And, stop procrastinating about the inevitable and enjoy your military service without

further ado. Of course I understand the feeling of those who are here to have a physical

examination for draft..^^ You could find the job tiring at first but you'll soon get used to it,

and I guess you have a lot to learn about your military life while you are serving in the

military. You can have pride on yourself who acted honorably.

Q : Are you doing just fine at the military?

Rain : Yes!! I was so nervous at first, but I felt at home once I was in the military.

Also, I've always prided myself in fulfilling military duty as a Korean man.

Mothers all over the world say as, "One day you'll be sorry that you didn't study harder at

school", and by the same token, nothing is impossible if you set your mind to it even in

the military. Please do not miss the precious phase in your lives. Your military service will

ever remain a delightful memory.

병무청(청장 김영후)은 10일 “서울지방병무청 대강당에서 지난해 육군에 입대해 국방홍보원 홍보지원대원으로 군 복무 중인 정지훈 일병을 제9대 병무홍보대사로 위촉했다”고 밝혔다.

위촉식에 이어 정지훈 일병은 징병검사를 받으러 온 후배들에게 자신의 군 복무 경험담과 연예활동에 대한 후배들의 질문에 답하는 시간을 갖는 한편, ‘일일 명예징병관’으로 활동하는 등 병무홍보대사로의 첫 활동을 시작했다.

정지훈 일병은 앞으로 1년간 병무청의 각종 홍보모델 활동과 의정부 306보충대 등에서 열리는 ‘현역병입영문화제’ 등에 참석해 병무홍보대사로서의 역할을 수행한다.

병무홍보대사로 위촉된 정지훈 일병은 “앞으로 비록 작은 역할이겠지만 달라진 병무행정을 널리 알리고, 병역을 이행한 사람이 사회적으로 존경받고 우대받는 분위기를 조성하는 데 기여할 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 소감을 밝혔다.

2011년 10월 입대한 정지훈 일병은 지난 2월 24일부터 국방홍보원 홍보지원대원으로 복무하고 있으며, 내년 7월 10일 전역예정이다.
