[Jan-29-2010] J.Tune, Rain's present agency, and JYP will respond strongly by taking legal action like a claim for damages against 'Well Made Star M'.




J.Tune Entertainment, Rain's present agency, and JYP expressed, "We've been found innocent of causing the cancellation of Rain's World Tour concert in 2006~2007 and we'll file a compensation suit against 'Well Made Star M' about that later on."



The attorney of J.Tune and JYP said, "The excessive transference of the secured rights for World Tour concert among the local promoters, was the real and prime cause of the cancellation of the concert."

"Even though the promoters were in charge of the promotion for the concert, they held no responsibility for the dispute due to its cancellation and pressed their luck too much, setting off a chain of transference of the rights, and the adequate preparation for the concert had to take a back seat in this progress."

Continuing, "J.Tune and JYP will respond strongly later on, by taking legal action against 'Well Made Star M' like a claim for damages."

 Rain Wins Lawsuit! 


Superstar Rain and his previous agency JYP Entertainment were sued by the Wellmade STARM entertainment group around March of 2009 for a whopping 4.57 billion won (around $4 million) due to cancellations of concerts during his US tour in 2007. Wellmade STARM was the financial brawn behind his tour and stated that the singer had breached their contract by unsuccessfully performing 16 shows for his US tour.
A South Korean court ruled that Rain was not to blame for the cancellations and dismissed the lawsuit. Judge Bae Kwang Kook stated, “The poor preparations by US promoters were the cause of the cancellations.”
He also came to an agreement with Click Entertainment on a different lawsuit over a canceled concert in Honolulu around June of last year. Congrats to Rain for making it through this rough case.
