01.27.10 [TVBS News] Rain Brings Business To Hotel & Increases Room Rates

Asian “Son of Heaven” Rain will be arriving in Taiwan tomorrow evening. His hotel has prepared him a suite costing 110,000 Taiwanese Yuan (approx US$3444) a night for him to stay. And to enable Rain to have a taste of Taiwan, the hotel has also prepared little delicacies from all regions around the country as well as a 36,000 Taiwanese Yuan (US$1127) bottle of a local vintage liquor (not sure of the name/brand). Rain’s coming to Taiwan has also led the hotel’s achievement in occupancy as room rates have increased by 20%-30% compared to last year.

Last month, After School’s UEE revealed on KBS Champagne that her ideal man was Rain / Bi. Well, in a preview for next week’s episode of Strong Heart, UEE talks on the phone with her ideal man.

Worldwide sales of Ninja Assassin has reached around six ten-million dollars.

Hollywood movie Ninaj Assassin which is Rain's first starring role as a Korean actor, has worldwide reached six ten-million dollars as of Jan.25th.

It has grossed $ 38,047,967 in North America (by the standards of Box Office Mojo in North America on the 25th) and $ 8,613,264 in Korea (by the standards of the united computer network of movie tickets), respectively.

In addition, it has remarkably been a commercial success with the box- office smash even in another countries, such as England ($302,094), German ($445,707. the release date : Dec.21, 2009), Spain ($1,147,360. the release date : Dec.23,2009), Italy, Turkey ($170,715. the release date : Jan.8, 2010), Bulgaria ($40,378. the release date : Jan.15,2010), an so on.

[23-24 Jan 10] LOR Osaka Concert Fan Account  

I want to rush out this fan account before my next stop so bear with its roughness.

The Osaka Jo hall is packed.  I feel really grateful to the Japanese fans.  They have to pay a straight price of 12,000 yen, knowing perfectly well that many of them will be sitting far away.  Yet they are so contented, so supportive – a full house concert, with fans all holding light sticks, chanting and cheering for our prince.  I am sure our prince feels the love and the support.  I am sure this is why our prince “gives” himself totally to the fans in the two concerts.  This is his way of returning his love and gratitude.  To me, it is both so touching, yet also heartbreaking.

Our prince started the show with a slightly different style – he is still wearing his formal suit, but with his sleeves casually half rolled up.  Formality blended with casualness, a gentleman with a touch of wildness and sexiness.  These dual, apparently contradicting qualities yet blended so harmoniously, so naturally, so uniquely attractive on our prince can be seen and felt throughout the concerts.  I will just high light a few:

After a sad “Only You”, our prince walked towards the front of the stage, got a towel, talking to us as he wiped his sweat off his face.  Then looking at us mischievously, he put the towel under his armpit.  When we screamed, he used the towel to blow his nose.  More screams, and he threw the towel to the lucky one.  When we were still in happy commotion, he raised his arm for silence, took the microphone and sang in such rich feelings “Hand Shake”.  He is now totally a sad, melancholic prince and he could make you cry our heart out.

Likewise, at the last part of “Nan”, our prince knelt down, panting, tortured by his emotion.  We were all holding our breath, watching him in helpless pain.  The hurt prince then stood up and walked towards the backstage.  He turned slightly, looked at us, pulled his T to reveal part of his body.  Screams.  He pulled up his T.  More screams.  He pulled down his pants and unbuckled his belt.  More screams.  He pretended to take off his shoes.  Yet more screams.  He then smiled and sucked his fingers, once, twice, three times, and then puked.  He turned from the saddest prince into the cutest, naughtiest boy!  The amazing thing is you don’t feel that he is acting his manliness or his cuteness.  He is naturally both.

Our prince must have thrown the most towels to fans at the Osaka concerts.  He even threw bottles of water to us when he saw how much people really wanted to have something from him.  And he never forgets fans who sat far away yet equally so supportive.  He asked us to wait and tried to tie a knot with the towel.  This way it adds weight.  He then used all his strength and pitched the towel as if pitching a baseball towards the second floor fans.  And it landed exactly where he aimed and caught by a lucky fan.  He did the same to the other side.  When he ran out of towels, he picked up the bottles of water.  “Be careful” he said as he threw the bottles out.  I was really, really touched.  Our prince is so thoughtful, so considerate, so caring – what more can a fan ask for? 


The Osaka concerts to me are both touching and heartbreaking.  I can’t help but feel the mutual love between our prince and us.  I also can’t help noticing how much our prince is trying to give to his fans, to a stage where he has totally put his own well being behind.

I believe our prince is still suffering from some injury to his back and legs, (or at least not fully recovered).  He held his waist with his hand a number of times after some powerful dance moves.  He smiled as he did so, but I can tell the pain is there.  Yet nothing will stop our prince from giving himself totally to us, not even his pain.  He still jumped down high the second night when he sang “I’m coming”, followed by a somersault.  When he was right in front of me shaking his hair, I could see his sweats splashing out.  At the encore parts, he was happy, he also wanted us to be happy, and he danced to total oblivion of himself.  (even though he has to touch his waist again after some dance moves).  I suddenly feel that our prince is such a determined and strong man that every woman wants to be protected by him, yet at the same time he is such a pure and simple child that every woman wishes to protect him from being hurt.

And both man and child are so naturally, so uniquely him, our prince.

Warner Home Video has announced Ninja Assassin starring Rain will slice and dice its way onto Blu-ray + DVD + Digital Copy on March 16.

The R-rated Ninja action thriller was co-produced by the Wachowski Brothers and released November 25, 2009 in theaters to mostly positive reviews. It went on to make $38 million domestically and nearly $50 million worldwide at the box office. The Blu-ray edition of Ninja Assassin will be offered in 2.4:1 1080p video and 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio, along with BD-Live support.

All but one of the bonus features are exclusive to Blu-ray leaving little incentive to go for that version, especially with the DVD packed in with the Blu-ray. Of note is a sneak peek of Warner Bros.’ upcoming Clash of the Titans remake with Sam Worthington due in theaters on April 2, 2010.

[Jan-28-2010] Rain's agency J.Tune Entertainment has agreed on a contract for his Asia Tour in Taiwan.

J.Tune Entertainment announced on the 28th that J.Tune Camp and Rain have signed around a three hundred thousand dollar contract with the organizer of his Asia Tour concert which will be held in Taiwan on Jan.30, 2010.

[Jan-28-2010] Rain and JYP are blameless for the cancellation of Rain's World Tour concert in USA.

The Seoul District Court in Korea has ruled that production agency 'Well Made Star M' has lost a case against Rain and JYP demanding around a four million dollar compensation for damage from them due to Rain's canceled World Tour concert in USA.

On the 28th, the court ruled against the plaintiff 'Well Made Star M', the organizer of World Tour, which had demanded around a four million dollar compensation for damage from Rain and JYP.

The judge expressed, "Rain's World Tour concert was canceled in North America, not due to the trademark friction to the name of Rain, but due to the inadequate preparation of production agency 'Micro' which was in charge of its promotion in Hawaii including the contract issues related to 'Revolution' company which was the local partner."

Continuing, "As there was a get-out clause in the contract that is Rain and JYP should not take the responsibility for the issues with third parties, 'Well Made Star M' can not hold them to the cancellation."

And, "Since the cancellation of the concert in China was due to the dogmatic sales of the concert right by the 'DR Music' company side, 'Well Made Star M' can not hold Rain and JYP to the cancellation either."

Before that, 'Well Made Star M' filed around a four million dollar compensation suit against Rain and JYP by claiming, "We paid around 8.7 million dollars to Rain and JYP for appearing in World Tour concert and for delegating the responsibility for the authority of the concert right to us in 2006, but 16 of 35 concerts were canceled because the JYP side did not divulge beforehand that there was a problem in the trademark right to the name of Rain in USA."
