Military Deferment for Rain
Article from Shin Min (aka XIN MING) :
11 Dec 2005 (Sunday)
Roughly translated as follows:
Korean King of Pop, RAIN, recently applied for "Qing Xi" University's Mixed Art Design Graduate school, for honours in Practical Musical Art. The university announced yesterday that RAIN has passed the entrance exmination. G.O.D member, Kim Tae Woo will be joining RAIN in the same graduate school.
RAIN is currently in his 4th year of Arts Design faculty and will be graduating next Feburary. With his admission to graduate shool, it'd be a few more years before his military service.
...and that little note next to the picture says "With RAIN's delay to serve in Military Service, his fans would be the most elated".

King meets king, Rain vs 50 Cents
24.12.2005The Taipei concert is supposed to be the last stop of Rain's asia tour, but with his rising popularity, it was announced that there will be one more stop at Bangkok on 26 Feb next year. This date puts him up against several top Western bands - Green Day, Prodigy are holding concerts in Thailand in Feb next year, and what's most coincidental is that America's top hip-hop singer 50 Cents will be holding his concert on the same day as Rain.
Rain has already won over the hearts of China, Hongkong & Taiwan, and now even SEA is falling under his charm. Channel 7, the biggest tv station in Thailand, broadcasted Rain's before. Although this East-West battle for the concert day in Feb is deemed to be a tough fight, but Channel 7 is giving Rain their utmost support through their vigorous promotions. Rain's slated concert in Thailand next year has come up against several top Western bands who will be holding concerts in Thailand at around the same time. And the most coincidental is that 50 Cent's concert day clashes with that of Rain's - both are slated for 26 Feb. Right now, Thailand is trying to determine which will be better received - the Hip Hop trend or the Hallyu wave.
