[5 March 2010] Lotte 8th Family Concert Fan Account
I went to J Tune early afternoon to deliver a small gift for our prince, then went to check out on the venue. I was there less than 5 minutes and I could hear our prince singing, without music, a new song! Could he be rehearsing for the night? A new song? May be a duet with Kim Tai Woo? These were the questions swirling in my head, and as the night turned out, this mystery isn’t resolved.
My friend and I managed to get very front row seats, but to the side. It was funny that we were all well seated in good order when the first 3 artists performed (in the order of Lee Seung Chul, Whee Song, Kim Tai Woo), but as soon as the music changed after Kim, everybody rushed out towards the front stage, and we all cheered with excitement when Rainism was played, and our prince appeared on the stage. He looks slimmer than I last saw him at the Taiwan Legend of Rainism concert. And his handsome V line face looks a sexier, deeper V than before. He asked us to make some noise, but even without his asking, we were shouting and screaming and chanting “I am a bad bad boy” as his chorus. After the wild “Rainism”, our prince performed a very beautiful “Love Story”. His voice was very rich and strong, and just as we were carried away by his very powerful and emotional singing, he would suddenly looked at the audience, blinked his eye and gave a cute smile! The floor roared as he did so!
And then our prince talked. I didn’t understand other than I know he said something about his clothes and something about 5. (and I thought he teased and joked to us about taking off his shirt !!!!) Of course now I knew what happened, and this convinced me even more that our CEO is really the king of stage. The very small mishap did not affect his magnificent performance. We were all totally attracted and absorbed into his singing. In fact at that time I didn’t even notice that he has changed his clothes when he came out again after 5 minutes or so. Of course I know what happened now. And looking back at the fancam I could see that what I took as teasing and joking at that time was actually our prince very own true nature: he’s like an innocent little kid who got into trouble, and has to tell his family about this. This reminds me of Washington and the cherry tree, he was just adorable and lovely!
Then our prince performed “Touch Ya”, and he was very energetic, playful and cheerful. He walked down the stairs and walked along the front stage. When he saw the camera he poked his face towards it and made a face before he went back to the stage. The security staff were caught off guard by his coming down the stairs. We went wild but we all behaved. We did not rush towards him (I was on the front row then) even though the security strap broke off. I was proud of the clouds.
Talk part. Can’t remember this is before “Avoid of the Sun” or after. Our prince seemed to enjoy doing statistics about the age of his fans. So we have a round of 50s, 40s, 30s, 20s and 10s. And many of us put up our hands at all the age groups! (dear prince, please note that not all of us want to reveal our true age to you!) The rest I don’t understand but there was translation elsewhere already so I will skip that.
And then he performed “How to Avoid the Sun”, followed by “It’s Raining”. At the end of “It’s Raining”, our prince showed a posture like Bruce Lee. I smiled. He must be trying to tell us, especially the Japanese fans “Hey, I have to make my body fit, like Bruce Lee, so go and watch Ninja Assassin”!
Then our prince disappeared backstage. After a loud round of encore, he came out and to my pleasant surprise, performed “Instead of saying good bye”, his first encore song. And time seemed to have gone back to his Legend of Rainism concert. He waved his hands and said “Left, right, left right” and we waved our hands too. He jumped and we jumped too. All the sweet memories of the LOR concerts returned. He finished the song and disappeared again.
More shouts of encore and chanting of his name. And our prince came out once again and sang “Fresh Woman”. He went to both sides of the stage and waved his hands and bowed to the fans who sat far away. He tried to let all of us feel we are all important to him, as he sang and used his hand to point and embrace as many of us as possible, whether we sit right in the centre front or far back at level 2 or 3. He knows we don’t want the show to end, and he doesn’t want to disappoint us. So at the end of the song, he continued to dance and wave his hands. And the dancers have to drag and carry him backstage. Still he gave us a deep bow before he disappeared.
Thank you, dear prince, for giving us such a wonderful evening. It is indeed a family concert – I feel so much like you have included all of us as one big family!
