He was actively involved in these community charities from 2005 to 2009.
- 2005: donated money for 50 drinking wells in Cambodia
- 2006: a participant of Love Photography exhibition to help finding adoptive parents and was appointed as a World Vision HIV/AIDS Ambassador
- 2006 – 2007: a small percentage of the proceed from his World Tour is donated to the orphaned children who are diagnosed with AIDS

He was given the golden opportunity to star in two Hollywood films. He plays a small role as racer Taejo Togokahn in Wachowski’s Speed Racer followed by Ninja Assassin, directed by James McTeigue, where he acts as the leading character Raizo.
The Wachowski siblings were impressed by Rain’s focus on the hardcore trainings and his portrayal as a fighter. With his mind-blowing performances, he won the Biggest Badass Award at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards.

During his filming for Korean variety Guided Adventures in Taiwan, he revealed how much he had spent for his wedding.
His wife, Kim Tae-hee suggested having a simple and private (not too expensive) wedding in the church. He was wearing a tuxedo that he had worn before. There was no professional wedding photographer. Instead, the photos, taken by the guests, were compiled into a beautiful wedding album. They also used them to create a wedding video.
The total wedding cost spent is USD$ 2460 (RM9840)! They don’t need a lot of money to create a beautiful and memorable wedding. To them, having each other and creating new life chapters together are what matter the most.
He is a family man
In January 2017, he is married to the beautiful actress Kim Tae-hee. He later became a loving father after his first daughter is born.
He only posts a couple of his family photos on his Instagram because he wants to keep family and work separated. Despite that, he spends some quality time with his family when he’s free.

JTBC and Rain’s agency have announced that Rain will be the leading role for action romance series Sketch that presents the love and fate of those who struggle to change their destinies.
He will be playing as an investigator in the violent crimes department. Starring with actor Lee Dong-gun, this drama is planned to be released in May.
We are looking forward to seeing him in action in his first drama series since My Lovely Girl.
