[22-May-11][kokokoreano]Bi Rain at “The Best 2011 Rain Asia Tour” Singapore Press Conference

All-round world star, Bi Rain held his “The Best 2011 Rain Asia Tour″ Singapore press conference on May 21, 2011, at Marina Bay Sands. Rain is topped “The Most Influential People in the World” by Time Magazine 2011, and is here in Singapore for his “The Best 2011 Rain Asia Tour” concert which will be held on May 22, 2011 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

So, what can his fans lookout for at the concert? With a water conservation theme for Singapore’s stop, 1000 litres of water will be used for a 2.5 minute rain falling scene during the concert. After which, the 1000 litres of water will be re-used to spread the message of water conservation in Singapore. In addition, there would be a laser show, specialized props and also a long runway for better interaction with fans. Rain will also be inviting one lucky female fan on stage to serenade at the song – My Lady.

Rain will be performing over 20 songs during his concert, showcasing approximately 200 pieces of costumes. Rain discussed about the various costumes with his stylists, and there is nothing in particular he would not wear since it is all for performance; thus, he hopes that his fans will understand when he wears too few pieces of clothes.

[fan account] 11-05-19 Rain in Dresden 2nd part&end

i saw the first part of my fan account already is here on the page... you will find in the gallery section - also translated to korean already - thanks a lot

here is the 2nd part:

the evening of the concert

After he had left the ice-cream restaurant we also went to our room to rest a bit and get ready for the night.

We knew we will go and see him in an Opera house in a very very old and historical one, so everyone dressed up. And not just my friends and me, also as we noticed later, everyone … no matter how young the rain fans were, all were very elegant.

We left the hotel, to be in front of the Semper Opera at around 8pm, when we reached there we already could see a lot of ppl and mostly rain fans! I was overwhelmed to see so many german fans, western fans, so happy for this. Also the cloud did organize a donation thing, and I heard from the dresdner music festival fb page, the got 5000€. This is a lot!

There I also met a german friend of mine, she is a childhood friend of mine, and it was her first time to see Rain in flesh and blood, she was totally excited. When I was falling for Rain, I infected her too, but till now she never had the chance to see him.
Actually there were so many “first – time- see- him “ fans, you could feel the excitement in the air!

Then we entered the Opera house and I bought a program folder, a pity just in german but even though also the oversea fans bought, like I bought Korean newspaper in NY ;-)

My ticket was in the 2nd row, and the 1st and 2nd row were a bit cheaper as the following one, so my friend and I who was next to me were wondering why? We were a little bit worried, maybe the stage too high we cannot see all??? Or what? Some one said cause of the acoustic thing, if just this we don’t care hahaha, as long we can see him ^^

We took our seats, and noticed wonderful, all fine and close! And then we could look around – the Semper Opera – wonderful place and what an honour for Rain to have this spot to sing and perform the very first time in Europe, when you start from here where will you go them?? ^^

Nearly all seats where taken, some where empty, but we knew all very sold. We just guessed, when we looked at the middle of the 1st row, that these seats where not in the official sale, but still the ppl who were seated there, looked very interested. I would have said about 60% Rain fans – the rest Vogler fans. But still everybody of the mixed audience looked interested at the other part! Behind me some young german Rain fans where seated. I could listen to their talking… like omg my heart will stop when he comes out, omg omg I will see him soon, I go crazy, I cannot breath, should we get up when he comes? And so on … they were sooo excited.

Everybody prepared the cameras, normally its not allowed to take pics but even the official ppl said, for this eve its allowed – thank god!
And then the light went down. There was video screen, Jan Vogler appeared and welcomed us in german first but then told us he will switch to engl now for our international audience. He explained what we have to expect now.
He will open the performance with his cello and “Bach-Suiten” 5th elements. He told us we should hold the applause till the end of this. Then Rain will come with his part, then they both will meet in the middle together and then he will do again alone and then Rain will end the eve.

Then Vogler appeared, started to play and even though the young Rain fans were totally excited they paid Vogler and his performance respect and listen to it quietly. For me it was nice I could clam down and had time to think of the coming.

And then Volger ended, ppl clapped, he left the Stage ………..
Light changed the video screen started to show parts of Rain clips and the fans started to scream and to yell – me too ;-) ….. and then he came!
And I was nearly crying, - I never expected this, but I was overwhelmed from the situation, so many things came together for me, my last time I saw him singing on stage 2009 in HK, and much more the main point – finally him in Europe singing and not just this – the first time in Europe and this in Germany!!!! I was hoping for this and waiting for this soooo long and now it happens. My eyes were teary, I could not even see him properly ^^. But then… I could and omg he was so close, thank god to the small venue, thank god to the close seat, and even my friends some of them had 7th row said omg such a great view – so close!
He was so close that even my poor camera could take great pics! This time again I could see he enjoyed the performance, he enjoyed ever of our screams and cheers, he immediately had spotted where the rain fan groups where seated and often looked at us or flirted with us. He seemed to be so happy that he so many ppl came for him.
He was sweating so much, and I could see every drop fall, so close ;-)
Then Vogler came out to join him, they started to talk, in English, and what I liked the most at this point the Rain fans started to yell for Vogler too. I think this was the moment, they wanted to thank him that he brought Rain to german stage.
And yes I totally thankful to him. They showed a short clip how the met and how the worked out this eve.
The talk Rain and Vogler had, sure it was prepared, we know Rain is still struggling with engl, but he did a good job. When he was listing all the last concert stops of his Asia tour and the still missing one, I shouted – come to Europe! He looked in my direction and smiled.
Sorry girls not 100% sure if it was now … or later … but still. Vogler and Rain got a huge bunch of flowers … Volger throw it in the audience in the middle I think about 3rd row, but Rain moved to the right … our direction and ………… gave the flowers to the girl in front of me in the first row. *sigh what a pity I was not seated there ;-)

And then they started together. I really liked this part, even though I would have wished they would have give the cello more volume ^^. But still the gap between east and west, classic and pop, young and old was closed. And all of the audience – really all started to move with the beat. They caught all! Great!

Then Rain left and Vogler did again a part alone, time to calm down, but after he got the same strong applause like Rain did before, the Rain fans thanking him.

Then Rain came again … cheering yelling … and it should have been the end but then again Rain and Vogler came out and did a song together again. After they left and then the whole audience young and old Rain fan, Vogler fan run wild and tried to call them out again for 10min … but no *sigh it was done.

But still from all I heard around me german, engl, I also guess Japanese, Chinese  and Korean did say the same – it was great!!!! The whole thing.
Yes it was again just a Rain appetizer – makes us hungry for more.

I think it was a good thing, it was so success full, now Rain learned if he want he can come to Europe and can fill a venue for a real only Rain concert.

I know from other fan accounts he did gave some autograph and handshakes at the backstage door… but then he left for the hotel.

We went back to the hotel too, and when we arrived there were already german fans waiting in front. He was back in the hotel already and soon dancers came out…. And just a while later he appeared … hat, blue jeans shirt, head down leaving by food for dinner. My friends and I did not follow we had our time with him already. The young german fans did.

We went for dinner too, did choose the same restaurant Rain was the night before.
Then after 2 of my friends decided to look for him if they can find him … me and another friend of mine decided we got the full package already its okay we go back to the hotel.
When we arrived there, there was german fan sitting in the lobby (super tiny lobby – just one table, 4 chairs, and the glass lift) so we joined her for a chat. We talked about the concert and Rain .. and Rain …and I think Rain ;-) Actually it was coincidence that we met her and chatted, and it was a long while maybe 30-40min, cause if not … we would have already been to the room when my friends came back and told us - they are coming, Rain and his dancers … and we … there in the lobby – pole position!
So we just lean back … and he came, walking in head down pretending do look at something at the camera, not looking at us. Heading to the lift smiling. He went into the lift, and lean against the glass wall next to where I was sitting about 3m away from me. Still head down but he was smiling again … not sure about what … maybe pics on the camera? Then the moment the lift started he looked up smiling started waving – smiling and waving at all of us – we waved back – and he was out of sight!

^______________________________^

Could there be a better ending for me before he join the military?
My last glimpse on him – smiling face at us!

These were Rain in Dresden, the best time with him I ever had!

Thanks for reading my very long fan account, feel free to share, but pls keep the credits, thanks

Fan account: Rain in Dresden

My personal experiences, just how these time in Dresden was for me

I have to say - in sum, before I start - Super!

When I found out in autumn last year that Rain will perform at the Dresden Music festival I was a bit confused. Like, what will this be, with classical musician.
But sure I could not refuse to rush for a ticket, and when I booked it online, the middle part of the best seats where already gone but still I could catch 2nd row a bit on the right side.

Then time went by, I could fix with my headmaster that I will have 2 days off, but still I was not very excited. Can not really say why, but I was not. Then finally around Easter, it seems it got real for me, and I was looking forward to it, and got more and more curious what we will get. I feel I bought a "Kinder surprise" ;-) and also the official music festival page did not gave much info, so … wait and see.

Wednesday evening I arrived at the airport and stayed there cause my friends who I going to meet and sharing room told me he will arrive soon too, so just stay!
Thank god the airport in Dresden is small, you cannot get the wrong exit. While I was first waiting for my friends to come, I met some fans from japan, who came also to welcome him at the airport, we chit chatted. I love this multicultural thing.

Then my friends arrived, big hello and hugs two of them I did not see for 3 years, another, I just saw her last summer but still. And I finally met a german fan for the first time, we know by internet for quite a while but we never met. So nice to see her.

After a while we were a group about 25 to 30 women. Not many local fans more oversea. Then an official lady from the festival arrived. She was looking at us, and I started to talk to her. She was really nice and not shocked by the fans who waited for him. The situation was a lot more relaxed as in Berlin 2006. No body guards!

Then his plane landed, and first his dancers and staff came out, and then after ~2 min he appeared! Yes he appeared ;-). The girls start calling, and tried to get close to him, I stepped back like I always do in this situation, I do this without thinking, it seems I’m not good in this kind of hectic situations. ;-) He wore a hat, dark jacket, black pants and roman sandals. Oh yes sure and glasses. He did not look around, he rushed to the exit, the girls followed. And he left with the car.
Actually not very satisfying, but as a Rain fan you do not expect anything different. At the airport its always like this. *sigh
But anyway, it was nice to look at him in person again after May2009.

We took our time to go back to our hotel, cause the lady from the music festival confirmed that Rain will stay in the QF hotel as we had guessed. So we were not in a hurry cause, we will be in his hotel anyway ^^
The lady also told us first he was booked on Kempinsky but he changed the booking cause there would not have been enough space for his staff, and he wanted to stay with them so he moved over to the QF hotel.

As we arrived the hotel, fans who were there told us he just arrived and went up. Then the bus with the dancer came, and we went to our room. I unpacked changed and we went downstairs again for maybe dinner or maybe seeing Rain ;-)

And yes - the weather was really good, so we took seats in a restaurant next to the hotel entrance, and yes first the dancers and then after a while Rain came. Wearing shorts and a orange shirt! Jihoon thanks a lot, with this shirt we really could spot you from a far hihihihi.

He left with this dancers, but did not went very far just across the square to a german Bavarian Restaurant, sitting outside, having food, drinking beer and chatting with his guys. We did not went in a group but one by one we just walked by and took a short glance on him. Hihihi

Then he came back to the hotel. Went up. And we went to our room too.
First evening done, Rain seen 3 times. Fine.

Thursday 2011.05.19 - the day of the concertWe just could give wild guess about this time schedule at this day, so were quite relaxed we just had to try our luck to be at the right time at the right place!

My friend told me when she went downstairs first, she saw him leaving in a dark suit, with vogler together. Probably for a photo call.
At the breakfast the waitress told me the whole staff was there for breakfast ~8 but if he was with them she could not say. Anyway we enjoyed our breakfast and took our time till 11am.

Then we gathers in front of the hotel not really sure what to do, as someone said he is back in the hotel already – so no more wondering what to do – waiting for him!
We did not have to wait too long and some dancers appeared, and a short while later Rain came too.
He met Vogler in front of the hotel and they had a short chat. And then Rain and his dancers walked over to the middle of the square to take some pics. We also took pics but just from far.
He was wearing Jeans, Leo-print shirt, brown sneakers and sun glasses. When he came out of the hotel he finished a bottle of coke light.

When they started walking, we followed, but this was not easy, cause there were not many ppl around so we were very obvious. After about 50m they stopped and changed the direction they went back – and we spread in all directions. Hahahaha must have looked very funny ;-)

I stand in front of a postcard shop, pretending to look at the post cards –but (hahaha so stupid of myself .-.. but still I had a reason to wear ) I thought ...I can stay there, I'm western he will not notice me as his fan ... but hihihihihi I was wearing a sixtofive bear shirt hahahahaha he looked in my direction I think he saw the shirt, but his dancer for sure and he looked like – okay nice try! Hahahaha … but still its okay, I wore the shirt on purpose, I wanted that ppl can see I'm his fan. Okay cover blown off. So I did not longer had to hide! A good thing too.

But anyway at least the moment they changed direction he noticed us and that we are following him, we were a group about 10 to 15 girls, I did not count but I had the feeling he has done. Hahaha
So we crossed the square and went on walk with him.

I have to say -I enjoyed every single moment of the next ~90 min. Every thing was very relaxed, no hectic, no running, no one send us away or blocked us.
He knew that we follow him and he was fine with, just when 2 girls tried to take pics from close, his dancers said: pls no pics. But then all was fine.

We walked through a little market where he posed for the twitter pics, and went on to a shopping mall, where he first entered an apple shop.
But the funny thing is - he recently turned around several times to look after us. I had the feeling he was saying -everybody here? Can we go on? Or like hurry up we go on! ^^

So in the mall we tried to keep a distance to him, he fells comfortable with, but the range was big …mean from 10m close to about 3m.
Cause it was not so easy, cause sometimes they walked a bit faster sometimes slower. So we got closer.
I feel a bit strange doing this, cause I never did before, never had the chance to do this before - so - but still I liked it, cause I could feel he is fine with it, so we can do it.
When he stopped - went in a shop, some of the girl hide, I did not ...cause I think, he already knew exactly who follows him, so what the point about hiding. While we were walking behind him, we also chit chat like he did with his dancers - so very relaxing. For him and for us.

Then there was funny situation, he went up with the escalator, and a Canadian fan an I also stepped on the escalator going up, we just thought he will walk on when he reaches the end but - …he stopped!!!! And we: ohhhhhh what to do ... We are coming ...jihoon if you don’t want to have us close just walk away ...we cannot do anything the escalator is going on moving up. But he stood still... and turned around facing us coming up! My friend greeted him when we were nearly on top and he nodded. I could not do anything just smiled at him. *faint ..wow ...I had the feeling he wanted to have a closer look at us, ahahaha

He and his dancers went into the "Zara" shop and looked around. They took their time, I could see that Rain looked for shorts, and he tried some stuff, then he came out with some pieces and went to pay, his dancers where not done yet … they went on shopping and Rain came out and sat down in front of the shop waiting for his guys.

Meanwhile we also had taken a seat but a bit more far not directly in front of the shop, but my first thought has been to sit down where Rain then sat, I wonder if he would have taken the 2nd place if I would have been sit there???? ;-) One of the other fans said yes, I would say no.

After the shopping at Zara, we stroll around a bit more in the mall but then left soon. In-between 2 german girls pumped in him at the mall and had the chance to greet him and get a handshake ^^ very happy for them. Then they also asked him for an autograph and they also got.

As we left the mall, we went on walking around in the historical part of Dresden, Rain did take pics and his dancers too. We followed them, some other girls saw him, also western fans, they went close, he greeted them. So happy that he got to see he also has western fans. Then some of them were not sure to ask him for an autograph we told them – go for it maybe your only chance! They did and he stopped and started to write. So also some of girls of our following group grab the chance. So he singed about 10 things. And then he went on.

What about me, - nothing this time I did not bring anything to sign so ...no ..its like it should not happen ..but its okay ^^.

Then we came back close to the hotel again, they stopped at an Asian restaurant and sat down outside to have lunch.

We could see he enjoyed his lunch, and chatted a lot. From time to time fans dropped by and asked for autographs, he gave and shook hands.
I was sitting maybe 25m away fighting with myself should I try to get one, is it the right time - or already tooo late, cause he did write so many already???? Yes no yes no I don't know. At least I grabbed one concert folder and prepared my pen.
Then I saw he was done with eating, and lean back in the chair. And before my mind did decide, my body told me to get up and walk over.
I was holding the folder - he was not facing my direction so he did not see me coming. When I was there, I said: Sorry could pls sign this for me? He turned around looking friendly at me, and settled himself upright in the chair to get a better writing position. And took my folder and singed - I had the feeling he wrote for ages ... such a long signature *faint I said thank you and he said thank you and we shook hand for a moment ...And I left...

Back at my table I was shaking like crazy - finally after 7 years - I have an autograph from him *faint - Sooo happy I was brave enough to try! And happy I got a moment he was not wearing glasses. ^^
And the best thing was that all my friend were so happy for me too.

Soon after he left the restaurant - vanished for a short while to come back with his staff to have ice-cream in the next restaurant outside again. Thanks jihoon so easy to watch you.
The group was eating a lot, ordered a lot of coupes, and from his twitter pics I can say he enjoyed.

Then he went to the hotel.

At 6 he left for the Semper Oper.

2nd part the concert coming sooon ........

Rain was snubbed by the little girl, it was cute how he reacted to it, crying. Wonder if the girl will grow up & look for Rain in future?

[22-May-11][remarkable] Rain & Vogler - Dresdner Musikfestspiele: "Zum Greifen Na

english translation:

Dresdner Neueste Nachrichten – 21./22.05.2011 – S.10 – Stephan Wiegand

Within One’s Reach

Cultural meeting in the opera. Rain is the popular description of the fifth element.

It’s not obvious at the first sight how Rain influences the occidental High Culture. The Korean Star seems easygoing relaxed amused and plays with his talent. A glance beyond his facade is absolutely impossible; even in the opera, a place for high culture , the auditorium has to search vainly for seriousness. The 29 years old singer, actor and pop star with excellent love of entertainment was flirting constantly with his audience: With his numerous Asian fans, who were confident with every single line of his lyrics, and with critical visitors of the opera. Everyone who wanted to get involved with it, fell for his charm. That was also the self-feeding contrast program, a glance to Asia, a walk on a golden bridge, which the artistic director of the ‘Musikfestspiele’ (music festival) Jan Vogler intended and who enjoyed every single moment of this amusing mass migration.

Approaches like ‘Pop Meets Classic’ has been strained repeatedly in the past few years. In most cases the singer used to buy the suitable famous orchestra for this kind of variety, the musicians took over the part of the side decoration. An attraction, which is meanwhile predictable and does not surprise anymore. A symbiosis of Rain and Vogler is from its approach a completely different one. In this case a cellist discovered ‘the pop culture’ for himself and is furthermore careful enough not to leave behind any individuality.

Via video message Jan Vogler announced what the willing listener could expect in the next 90 minutes: an occidental overture, a colourful firework from the Far East, the meeting and fusion of both west and east and the following immediate parting of each other after this dialogue.

Jan Vogler accomplished with his cello an emotional entrance into an experimental evening Like the artwork of Bach, he was following along the elements fire, water, air an earth. An applicable animation was displayed on the screen in the background, which made it easier for the audience to recognise the elements. Big and small floes were moving, lights were flickering, rivers were plashing, and blossoms were swinging in the wind. The recordings in the background weren’t lavish installations, had semi-professional features, and seemed hastily composed on certain parts, however that suited the concept. Nothing had to be perfect, the elements, the audience, the artists as well as the thoughts only should be touching and complete each other. Hence the addition of an intangible fifth element to the four well-known element was very system-immanent – the spirituality. This accommodation unfolded its whole impact the moment when Rain enters the stage, within an blink of an eye one could feel the culture clash. Screaming teenies with distinct Asian roots were suddenly this near to their idol like they may have never imagined it. In Asia Jung Ji-Hoon easily fills entire stadiums and touches the dreams of girls and boys musician-wise, and suddenly this person is within one’s reach. The immensely high-pitched fan chants were mixed with electro sounds, with which Rain’s songs were designed; the opera developed into a pop-arena and in the rows there was no way back any more.

Every hip swing of the six dancers, every grasp region, every glimpse over the black sunglasses led to the limits of the tolerable. His songs ‘Rainism’ or ‘Hip Song’ are more of the western style, definitely less playful as been expected of an Asian pop song, and maybe because of that it is meeting the nerve of a new far east generation that is orientating on the western style, but is entirely individually socialized. Their parents have recognised the chances and the opportunities of it when cultures merge without neutralizing. They receive the best education the parents can afford, and they fortunately preserve their own character.

To show this was probably the biggest/greatest achievement that Jan Vogler accomplished. Curiously he was looking from the side curtain into the audience and was exceedingly joyful that his experiment was successful. The fact that he closes the circle with a dance of fire was almost a minor matter, it was more painful that the encore calls have not been heard, so the concert was ending abruptly.
