[03-Sep-10][10asia]Ti Lung to replace Eric Tsang on TV series "Domangja s1"((Fugitive))
Hong Kong actor Ti Lung will be joining the star-studded cast of upcoming KBS TV series "Domangja s1," according to a press release from the show's producer on Friday.
Ti Lung will be taking on the role of General Wai, who is friends with Ji-woo played by Asian superstar Rain, and a business partner to Kai, played by Korean-American actor Daniel Henney.
The role was originally set to be played by Hong Kong actor Eric Tsang but he dropped out due to a conflict in scheduling.
Ti Lung will be joining Korean actors including Lee Na-young, Lee Jung-jin and Kong Hyung-jin, as well as other foreign stars including Japanese actors Takenaka Naoto and Uehara Takako and Chinese actress Josie Ho.
"Domangja s1," helmed by noted TV producer Kwak Jung-hwan and written by Chung Sung-il, the creative team behind the hit KBS TV series "The Slave Hunters," is about a hefty sum of money that appears after 60 years since it disappeared in times of the Korean war.
Ti Lung is well known for studying martial arts and was discovered by the famed Shaw Brothers. His acting career began after his role in the "Return of the One Armed Swordsman" opposite Jimmy Wang Yu.
He continued his movie career by starring in other works such as in John Woo's "A Better Tomorrow," "Drunken Master II" and "Three Kingdoms: Resurrection of the Dragon."
"Domangja s1" will begin its run on September 29.

Korean superstar Rain will be able to pursue his singing and acting career for several more months following the deferral of his military entrance date to next year.
The Military Manpower Administration (MMA) said late on Thursday that it will push back Rain's military entry to an unspecified date next year from the originally set September 28 of this year.
All Korean men serve two years of mandatory military service, mainly during their early to mid twenties, but Rain, 28, had initially held off serving his military duties to study for a master's degree.
He then submitted an application this May requesting for another postponement for reasons relating to his career. Rain is one of the main stars of upcoming TV series "Domangja s1" set to premiere in late September.
Following the MMA's decision, Rain may appear in one more drama or movie before joining the military next year, according to his agency.
An official with upcoming film "Red Scarf," a remake of the Korean movie of the same name from 1964, had said last month that there is a high chance Rain will play the main character in the story which tells of the life and comradeship of various soldiers.
The movie would mark his second local big screen role, after critically acclaimed director Park Chan-wook's "I'm a Cyborg, But That's Okay" while he has also appeared in Hollywood pics "Speed Racer" and "Ninja Assassin."
Rain, whose real name is Jung Ji-hoon, is considered one of the most successful Korean stars in the entertainment business throughout Asia.

잘해나갈꺼라는,,,In my talks with this guy (Rain) whenever time allows from the shoot abroad for a long time, I've discovered he is a genuine person who has a really bright personality.
As a matter of fact, I'm a little astonished at how well he is doing.
In some ways, I can probably describe him as a person who has enjoyed many things and experienced much since his early age.
When people get what they want, they feel still more blue and act rashly, but he has great dedication to his work under God and is caring although he is also exhausted and feels like a rag.
I can't help but to take my hat off to him who is a lot younger than I am, for the way he does.
I think if there is a true professional, he is the one, when I see him working on in silence even in his recent much-troubled, scandalous status.
As for me who have often watched entertainers being dragged into many scandals regardless of their wills,
I think he could surely do better and go through this trial.
I've decided to watch this guy who is a man of great charm and has a passion for his career.
Seeing this guy who has an aura of greatness after such a long time, I'm sure he would do a great job, relying on his own judgment, dispassionate view of the situation, even in this tumultuous field.
