ATEEZ, iKon, Agust D, RAIN, Jackson Wang And Wonho: Essential Moves On This Week’s World Songs Chart

Almost every week, BTS control the most spots on the World Digital Song Sales chart, as they are the biggest act on the planet whose music almost always qualifies for that Billboard ranking. This frame, however, they aren’t in charge, as one name fills more spots than they manage to and a handful of soloists and bands debut new cuts on the tally, with several claiming more than one rung.
Here are five tracks whose moves are worth noting on this week’s World Digital Song Sales chart.
No. 1 - Agust D - "Daechwita"
BTS is so popular that when the members release something on their own, the songs and albums tend to perform very well, which isn’t shocking given how adored the full band is to this day. Last May, Agust D, also known as Suga when he’s recording with the world’s biggest group, dropped his sophomore solo full-length D-2, and the set and its entire tracklist became bestsellers.
Now, less than a year since it was first unveiled, lead single "Daechwita" is back at No. 1 on the World Digital Song Sales chart, where it opened months ago. Joining that leader in an impressive comeback is “People,” which earns its second stay on the tally at No. 8, nearly returning to its No. 6 high point.No. 5 - Wonho - “Lose”
Once one of the most popular members of K-pop/pop band Monsta X, Wonho is now making a name for himself all on his own. Five songs from his second EP Love Synonym Pt.2: Right for Us, which debuted on the World Albums tally not long ago, make their way to the World Digital Song Sales chart, giving him control over 20% of the entire ranking at once. That’s the kind of showing that typically only BTS can manage these days.
Wonho’s tracks “Lose,” “Ain’t About You” with Kiiara, “Devil,” “Weneed” and “Flash” debut at Nos. 5, 18, 22, 23 and 25, respectively. The solo star owns the most real estate on this week’s World Digital Song Sales chart, beating even BTS, who only have four tracks present this time around.
No. 6 - ATEEZ - “Fireworks (I’m The One)”
One of the most popular names in K-pop today, ATEEZ returns to the World Digital Song Sales chart this week with not one, but two new tracks. First up for the eight-member band is “Fireworks (I’m The One),” which kicks off its time on the tally at No. 6. Fellow new tune “Take Me Home” arrives at No. 16.
Both songs are featured on the group’s new EP Zero: Fever Part.2, which opens at No. 8 on the World Albums chart this frame.
No. 14 - iKon - “Why Why Why”
South Korean boy band iKon never wait very long before returning to the World Digital Song Sales chart, and though 2020 was a relatively quiet period for them (and many artists), they’re back with a big single that fans in the U.S. have snapped up. The group’s latest release “Why Why Why” arrives at No. 14 on the tally.
No. 20 - RAIN - “Magnetic (ft. Jackson Wang)”
RAIN is one of the most sought-after producers and songwriters in the K-pop world, and he’s also incredibly successful as an artist as well. This week, he finds his way back to the World Digital Song Sales chart, a ranking he has only reached a few times, which is surprising given how big he is in his home country and how large his fan base is. “Magnetic,” a new single which also features Jackson Wang (another huge star), starts its time on the roster at No. 20.
