Rain to Reappear in CNN’s Talk Asia

K-pop sensation and actor Rain will make a return appearance on CNN's ``Talk Asia'' to answer questions selected from those posted by his fans on the cable news channel's homepage.

On its Web site, CNN introduces Rain (real name Jung Ji-hoon) as a singer-actor with five albums to his name who has performed before thousands of screaming fans at concerts across the world. ``He's gone from being a backup dancer to the biggest thing in Asian pop culture, an actor and singer who has sold millions of albums,'' it says.

It also says he broke into the notoriously tough South Korean show business with JYP Entertainment when he was just 18 years old and is known as one of the hardest working people in the entertainment business.

Rain is expected to record the interview later this month. It is his first visit in four years to the program, which invites influential figures in the region.

Hundreds of fans from all over the world have already posted questions. Queries range from ``Who is your favorite Hollywood actress?'' and ``Why did you turn Megan Fox down?'' to ``What is your goal in the end?'' and ``When does your U.S. debut album come out?''

Rain made his first mark on Hollywood last year with a role in ``Speed Racer,'' appearing alongside Christina Ricci and Matthew Fox.

The upcoming action film ``Ninja Assassin,'' which stars Rain, will be released on Nov. 25.

In the film, he plays an orphan who becomes a ninja warrior. The film, directed by James McTeigue (``V for Vendetta'') and produced by the Wachowski brothers, has been one of the most highly anticipated action films of the year.

10.06.09 – Exclusive: James McTeigue Talks CGI Blood and ‘Ninja Assassin’



Not only did Fantastic Fest audiences get a glimpse at the upcoming Ninja Assassin two months before its wide release, FSR was lucky enough to sit down with director James McTeigue who had a ton to say about the MPAA ratings process, the concept behind creating a live-action anime and his forthcoming murder mystery The Raven (which he describes as Poe meets Se7en). 

Oh, and we also talk about kicking ass. Naturally. 
A veteran of the film industry, McTeigue had a lot to say about the difficulties faced by studios, claiming that they didn’t know what the next hot subculture would be (and that they need one for when comic book characters go on the decline).

Rain's hand touch event will take place at his Asia Tour concert, Legend of Rainism which will be held at Olympic Gymnastics Stadium, Seoul, upcoming 9th and 10th.

Rain's agent J.Tune entertainment expressed, "While Rain'll get down from the stage toward of the end of Seoul concert, he'll keep coming and going between standing seat and the second & third floors and will meet his fans in person. It reflects his opinion that he hopes he can commune with his fans and take a near view of them.

Rain had so much fun even at his Japan concert last August, coming down from the stage to the standing seat.

At that time, the concert had been converted into a huge club due to the sounds of the club style mixing music just in time."

After his Japan concert, Rain put a smile on his face, "I was absolutely more delighted that I danced and communed with my fans than any splendid stage scenery was shown."

Rain is planning to design the sets and formats of the second & third floors at his Seoul concert for communing with his fans.

The J.Tune entertainment side added, "It's a big concert which will be held in Seoul in 2 years. Rain had to work really hard to decide what is going to be considerate of his fans who have been waiting for a long time, and he's come to design such a hand touch event."

비, 팬들과 핸드터치  

'월드스타' 비가 '핸드터치' 이벤트로 팬들을 녹인다.

비는 9,10일 서울 방이동 올림픽공원 체조경기장에서 펼쳐는 <레인 아시아 투어 '레전드 오브 레이니즘(Rain Asia Tour Legend of Rainism)'>에서 팬들과 '핸드터치' 이벤트를 벌인다.

비의 소속사 제이튠엔터테인먼트 관계자는 "비가 공연 막바지 무대에서 내려와 스탠딩석과 2,3층을 오가며 팬들과 직접 만나는 시간을 마련한다. 팬들과 보다 가까이 교감하는 코너가 있으면 좋겠다는 비의 의견이 반영된 것"이라고 말했다.

비는 지난 8월 아시아투어 일본 공연에서도 스탠딩석으로 내려와 팬들과 흥겨운 시간을 보냈다. 때맞춰 DJ의 클럽 믹싱이 흘러나와 공연장은 거대한 클럽으로 변모했다. 비는 일본 공연을 마치고 "어떤 화려한 무대 장치 보여준 것보다 팬들과 함께 춤추며 교감한 것이 더 뿌듯했다"며 흐믓해 했다. 그는 서울 공연에서 2,3층에 자리한 팬들과도 교감하기 위해 무대 동선과 구성을 준비하고 있다.

제이튠 측은 "2년 만에 서울에서 펼치는 대형 공연이다. 오랫동안 기다린 팬들을 배려한 코너를 고민하다 '핸드터치'를 넣게 됐다. 관객 모두와 만나지는 못하겠지만 팬들에게는 큰 선물이 될 것"이라고 말했다.

미국 CNN의 '토크 아시아'는 CNN의 간판 토크쇼로 아시아를 대표하는 유명 인사를 초대하는 프로그램인데요.

이달 안에 월드스타 비가 초대가 될 예정입니다.

비가 아시아를 대표하는 스타로 인정을 받았다는 얘기겠죠?

가수로 영화배우로 세계무대를 누비고 있는 월드스타 '비'가 이달 말 미국 CNN 방송 '토크 아시아'에 출연할 예정입니다.

CNN이 비를 '이달의 아시아 스타'로 선정하고 전 세계 팬들과의 만남을 주선했기 때문인데요.

CNN은 비가 '백댄서에서 수백만장의 앨범을 판매한 아시아 대중문화의 초대형스타'이고 지난해 미국 시사 주간지 '타임'이 선정한 '세계에서 가장 영향력 있는 100인'에도 이름을 올렸었다고 소개했습니다.

프로그램 녹화에 앞서 지난 2일부터 CNN 홈페이지에는 팬들의 궁금증을 풀어주기 위한 코너가 마련됐습니다.

한국과 미국, 덴마크, 영국 등 세계각국의 팬들이 100건이 넘는 다양한 질문을 올리고 있는데요.

비의 '토크 아시아' 출연은 이번이 처음이 아니죠?

지난 2005년에도 이 프로그램에 출연해서 자신의 어린시절과 가수가 되기까지의 과정등을 이야기 해 화제를 모았고 이후, 2005년 '토크 아시아', '주요인물 베스트5'에 뽑히며 인기를 증명한바 있습니다.

CNN측은 비의 바쁜 일정을 고려해 조만간 한국을 직접 찾아 촬영을 진행할 예정입니다.

비스트 vs 엠블랙…알고 보니 사제 간 대결?




이데일리 SPN 박미애기자] 두 신인그룹의 맞대결에 가요계가 예의주시하고 있다.

비스트와 엠블랙은 오는 10월 중순 나란히 데뷔 음반을 발표하고 활동을 시작한다.

이러한 관심은 데뷔 전부터 화제가 되고 있는 두 신인그룹이 같은 시기에 출격하기 때문만은 아니다. 스승과 제자, 즉 사제지간의 대결이라는 겉으로 드러나지 않은 사실 때문에 가요계 관계자들이 관심을 갖고 지켜보고 있는 것이다.

6인조 남성그룹인 비스트는 전 JYP엔터테인먼트(이하 JYP) 대표였던 홍승성 현 큐브엔터테인먼트 대표가 포미닛에 이어 선보이는 두 번째 프로젝트다. 홍 대표는 JYP 재직 시절 god, 비, 원더걸스 등을 조련하며 아이돌그룹 발굴 및 육성에 대한 남다른 노하우를 갖고 있는 인물로 가요계 정평이 나있다.

이 그룹에는 지난 봄 ‘제2의 비’로 불리며 강렬한 인상을 남긴 이기광, 인기그룹 빅뱅의 멤버 선발에서 아쉽게 탈락한 장현승, 그리고 ‘열혈남아’라는 케이블프로그램에 출연했던 윤두준 등 낯익은 얼굴들이 다수 포함됐다.

최근 이들의 음반 재킷사진이 공개되며 비스트는 데뷔를 위한 카운트다운에 들어갔음을 알렸다.

5인조 남성그룹 엠블랙은 비의 현 소속사 제이튠엔터테인먼트(이하 제이튠)에서 선보이는 첫 신인그룹으로 비가 직접 제작한 사실이 알려져 남다른 관심을 받고 있다. 비의 입장에선 엠블랙이 프로듀서로서 검증 받는 첫 시험대가 되는 것이다.

엠블랙 역시 탤런트 고은아의 남동생과 비와 함께 할리우드 영화 '닌자 어쌔신'에 출연한 제이튠 소속 신인 연예인 이준이 멤버로 알려져 최근 화제가 됐다.

엠블랙은 오는 14일 첫 번째 미니음반을 발표한다. 이에 앞서 9일과 10일 서울 올림픽공원 체조경기장에서 열리는 비의 아시아 투어 콘서트 ‘2009 비 아시아 투어-레전드 오브 레이니즘’ 오프닝 무대를 장식할 예정이다.
