Rain Gets Physical in the Stunt Reel of NINJA ASSASSIN

Who would have thought Korean pop superstar Rain is capable of carrying an action film? At first, I had my doubts when I heard he was going to headline Wachowski's produce Ninja Assassin but a stunt reel has turn up on Youtube that convinced me to reconsider my judgment of him as just another pretty boy. The stunt reel showcase Rain in top physical shape and training swordplay choreography with the 87Eleven stunt team to prepare him for the fight scenes. I'm impress on how well Rain is able to move swiftly under a complicated set of steps. This will definitely get the fangirls swooning hysterically.  

Raizo is one of the deadliest assassins in the world. Taken from the streets as a child, he was transformed into a trained killer by the Ozunu Clan, a secret society whose very existence is considered a myth. But haunted by the merciless execution of his friend by the Clan, Raizo breaks free from them...and vanishes. Now he waits, preparing to exact his revenge. In Berlin, Europol agent Mika Coretti has stumbled upon a money trail linking several political murders to an underground network of untraceable assassins from the Far East. Defying the orders of her superior, Ryan Maslow, Mika digs into top secret agency files to learn the truth behind the murders. Her investigation makes her a target, and the Ozunu Clan sends a team of killers, led by the lethal Takeshi, to silence her forever. Raizo saves Mika from her attackers, but he knows that the Clan will not rest until they are both eliminated. Now, entangled in a deadly game of cat and mouse through the streets of Europe, Raizo and Mika must trust one another if they hope to survive...and finally bring down the elusive Ozunu Clan.

그 누가 한국의 팝스타 비가 액션 영화를 이끌어 나갈 수 있을 것이라 예상했겠는가? 처음 그가 워쇼스키의 닌자 어쌔신 주연을 맡았다고 했을 때 나 역시도 많은 의심을 했지만, Youtube에 스턴트 장면이 담긴 영상을 보고 그가 단지 또 하나의 꽃미남에 불과하지 않다는 것을 느끼게 해 주었다. 못 믿겠다고? 직접 보아라. 그 스턴트 영상에는 비가 87Eleven 스턴트 팀과 칼싸움 장면을 위해 연습하는 모습이 담겨 있다. 나는 비가 그 복잡한 스텝을 부드럽게 밟는 것을 보고 인상적이라고 생각했다. 이 장면은 분명 여성 팬들을 넋 놓게 할 것이다.

Raizo는 세계에서 가장 치명적인 암살자이다. 어릴 때 거리에서 버려진 채 방황하던 그를 데려와 살인자로 키워낸 Ozunu Clan는 그 존재조차 하나의 신화로 여겨지는 비밀 집단이다.
그러나 친구가 Ozunu에 의해 잔인하게 처형된 뒤 그 환영에 시달리던 라이조는 Ozunu Clan을 떠나 사라져 버린다. 그리고 그는 복수를 위해 때를 기다린다. 베를린에서는, 유로폴 요원인 Mika Coretti는 우연히 일련의 정치적 암살 사건이 극동지역에서 온 어느 암살자 지하조직과 금전적으로 관련되어 있다는 걸 발견하게 된다. 자신의 상사인 Ryan Maslow의 명령을 거부하고 Mika는 극비 문서를 파헤쳐 결국 이 살인사건의 진실을 알아차린다. 수사에 들어간 Mika는 표적으로 떠오르고, Ozunu Clan은 그녀를 제거하기 위해 Takeshi가 이끄는 암살단을급파한다. Ninja Assassin's Rain training

Who could imagine a western actor, never mind pop star, learning martial arts and most of their own stunts for a martial arts film? Well I can't, but Rain is doing just that for the upcoming film Ninja Assassin, and the stunt reel showing online tells us just how hard he's training.

 

 

Not only that but it shows how great the stunts are going to be and how practical they are.

The showreel of stunt training has the Korean pop star Rain training hard for his role, not only working out but also performing some superb practical stunts with a few by wire as well. These aren't just isolated stunts either, these are the full fight sequences all carefully choreographed, and they look superb.

I'm really impressed by the work he's doing and what we're going to get to see on Ninja Assassin when it finally gets released. It looks like Rain is going to be propelled forward with this film too, and his existing fans are going to love it.

2008.12.15 [Newsen]The stars who are DahnKook graduate students including Rain will help unfortunate neighbors


The entertainers who are the students & the graduates of "DahnKook Graduate School", Rain, Shin Hyung-Won, Jo Seung-Woo, and Hong Ji-Min, are expected to join forces to help unfortunate neighbors, and to give a concert which is structured as a donation to them at the end of the year.

This concert will be given by name 'Art & Music Festival' at Ssmnet, live club, nearby Seoul HongIck University on the 18th 7 pm. The students of "DahnKook Graduate School" became the principal.

It seems to be very significant event that those who can not be present on urgent schedule like Rain, Hong Ji-Min, will also grace the occasion even if they send their love to them through the video.
